Anyone else wonder why they would shoot Jonas' parents, but not Jonas himself?

Jonas' mother isn't knocked down in the melee, she's shot. This is confirmed by Daniel's forum post, plus you can hear the gunshot. Someone who actually has an account and good standing here might want to fix that.
