So, I noticed that changes have been made to this page placing Jeremy, Meryl, Balthazar, Jonas, and Toe on this page, and I think some of these should be discussed. Jeremy and Meryl make sense to me. Jeremy appeared in a number of videos, was the biggest enthusiast of the Celestial Network, and was responsible for filming a number of Steve's videos. Meryl also makes sense to me, as she was a fan-favorite and appeared in a ton of videos... she was even a bridesmaid in one of the main character's weddings. However, the other three are a bit iffy. Balthazar didn't really play much of a role.. he just kind of stood there in the background and hung out with Jeremy (who already didn't have a big role) on occasion. I'm not sure if he merits a "recurring" notice. Also, Toe was only around for two weeks, which is not recurring. I understand that he was part of a major plotline in Paris, which is why I could maybe understand keeping him, but he really did not influence the plot in a big way and was only around for a short period of time. Jonas makes no sense to me, as he was never a member of the KM crew, he crossed over from lonelygirl15. To me, he is a lonelygirl15 character who appeared in some KateModern video, but is NOT a recurring KateModern character.

Alignment

The Alignment on this page is rather strange. The boxes aren't compact like on the LG15 character page. Anyone know how to fix this? -FH14

Supporting Characters

Due to the discussion being held over at the LG15 character section, I noticed some things about the KM Character page as well. For one thing: Dr. William Griffin is in 1 Episode. I'm not quite sure that merits him for being a supporting character. Also, If Dr. Griffin is kept under Supporting characters, should Michelle Clore be added to supporting characters as well (or the Watchers for that Matter) What does everyone else think? --FH14 16:03, 25 September 2007 (EST)

The characters we chose to add in the supporting characters section was determined by this post by KateModern Production team on Bebo. It appears that they have added Michelle Clore to the list of important characters/actors, so I'd say yeah, we can probably move her up if there are no objections. --Zoey 20:34, 25 September 2007 (CDT)
I'm happy with that! :-) - Theresa 02:15, 26 September 2007 (CDT)

Steve to Main Characters

Should Steve be moved up to the main character section? Many times on the Bebo and inside LG15 sites he is referred to as a "regular" along with Charlie, Tariq, Kate, and Gavin. --FH14 19:21, 06 January 2008 (EST)

I'd say we should wait for a bit into the second season before making any judgments about who to add to the main characters list. We already know Julia's gonna have to get bumped up there some time in the near future, but currently that would be a weird placement. Likewise, Steve may decide to take a break for the first half of the season. Who knows? - Shiori 21:28, 10 January 2008 (CST)
I agree. And I'd also kind of like to hold off until we see if we can get some good "official" pics of them that match up with what we were given for the Kate, Charlie, Tariq, and Gavin pics, so we can stay consistant. --Zoey 23:56, 10 January 2008 (CST)
I'm starting to doubt we're going to get those pics, Zoey. Maybe we should just make some temporary ones, or ask someone who would know? - Shiori 12:14, 22 January 2008 (CST)
...patience is a virtue, ya know ;) --Zoey 02:22, 23 January 2008 (CST)

Supporting Characters...yet again

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think everyone can agree that Patricia should be moved up to supporting characters. Also, should Justin be moved up as well? The Actor that plays him is getting supporting-level treatment on the KM bebo page. Thoughts? --FH14 15:06, 04 February 2008 (EST)

Patricia, sure. Justin's only been in three videos, so we should probably hold off on that one. - Shiori 20:43, 4 February 2008 (CST)

What about Lee? He should be a main character now, shouldn't he? He's in more videos these days than Steve.

Character Restructuring

Some of the character page appears to be outdated, So I have a couple of proposals to make (in no particular order):

  • Main Characters:
    • Charlie
    • Julia
    • Steve
    • Gavin
    • Lee (He has an account, appears in almost as many videos as Julia and Steve, and, as far as I'm aware, has made more appearances this Season than Gavin)
  • Recurring Characters
    • Terrence
    • Lauren (Has her own Bebo page, and has been appearing in multiple videos, indicating a big role in future videos)
    • Justin
    • Sophie
    • Rupert Van Heldon (Actor is notable enough to have his own page, he is listed on the KM Production Bebo page, and a Suspect in Kate's murder)
    • Michelle Clore
  • Former Characters
    • Kate
    • Tariq
    • Dudley
    • Dr. Griffin
    • Patricia (Hasn't been seen in a WHILE, Tariq's been gone less time than she has, and he's under former characters.)

Just my two cents. --FH14 11:40, 26 March 2008 (EST)

I support only the Patricia move. Here's my evaluation as to why, so you an evaluate/offer reasons to the alternative:
  • Lee: Should remain as a supporting/recurring character because he does not significantly move the plot, and basically serves as comedic relief. Sure, he's appeared TONS of times in recent videos, but a major portion of these appearances involved him being silent or giggling like a ninny.
  • Lauren: Not yet. I could support this move, but not after two videos. Not to mention the fact that I get the feeling she's going to be offed in the 12 in 12...
  • Rupert: Again, he's only been in two videos; I fail to see how this is recurring or supporting. I do get the feeling he'll be popping up again in the near future, but let's put a limit on his appearances to moving him up here. Let's say, I don't know, after he's been in 10 videos he can be moved up?
  • Patricia: Yeah, I agree with your rationale whole-heartedly.
- Shiori 13:50, 26 March 2008 (CDT)

Hm, well the whole thing about "recurring" is that it means that a character "pops up" throughout time in a significant way. Sort of... well, its kind of the definition of Lucy or Bree's Watcher on LG15, really. Even if we move Lauren up in time, she wouldn't be "recurring" as she doesn't pop up through time... she would be either "main" or "supporting." And with Patricia.. the thing with her is... she DOES pop up over time. Maybe she is former at this point, but she has proven in the past that she has a tendency to pop up when we least expect it, so I could go either way with her. For Tariq, he was once a main character and then he suddenly stopped appearing... citing a trip out of the country as his reason for going. So that seems like a pretty definite "leave" to me. Not to mention, he posted a blog on his Bebo to that effect. As far as Lee goes... I think he should maybe be moved up to main... he really is being treated as a main character this point. What if we moved Lee up to main... and broke the recurring into supporting and recurring again... and put Lauren and Justin (who also, is not really in the definition of "recurring") into "Supporting"? I could even go for moving Lee into supporting instead of main... but I do really get the feeling from his latest appearances that he is pretty "main." He feels kind of like the Spencer of LG15 to me... and Spencer was always considered main when he was around. So yeah, those are just my thoughts... sorry if they're all... disjointed... I need to get more sleep than I currently am :P --Zoey 21:58, 28 March 2008 (CDT)

I also beleive Lee should be main (I'd actually argue the kid's been a main character since the Gnome fiasco :P ). That said, I'm fine with Patricia in recurring. And hasn't Rupert been in more than two videos? I can remember four (Rupert, Sausage Sangas, Scene of the Crime, & Who Are The FTO?). Now, he may not have been seen in a while, but you know there's major potential for the character to return, even if its because he's regularly mentioned in both lg15 and KM. So having said all that, I'd put him in recurring as well. Finally, Lauren . . . not sure -- I'd be fine if she was a minor character until after the 12in12 -- if she's around after that, it would give us a good idea of her signifigance. Well, those are my two cents too :) --Pheon 22:10, 28 March 2008 (CDT)

New Images

So I went ahead and added new images to the page because I wanted to have this up in time for 12in12... the darn thing snuck up on me! I bumped up Lauren and Lee for the time being, because even if they aren't main characters long term (we can discuss this after the fact... or people can post comments about it now as a reply to this, either way is fine), I think we should feature them as though they are main, at least while the event is going on because the press images seem to indicate they'll be heavily featured in Precious Blood... I'm going to go ahead and put Lauren and Lee on the portal as well. Anyways, I've been working my butt off on trying to find good new images.. still working on the former character section... but yeah, I'd love peoples thoughts/comments. And just for now... wanted to explain why I was making this live without discussing first :) Thanks guys! --Zoey 01:01, 5 April 2008 (CDT)

I think it looks great Zoey! (*loves new images*) Just one thing... Should Rupert be bumped up to Recurring now that he's been revealed as Julia's boyfriend? --FH14 5 April 2008 (EST)
That picture of Justin makes me laugh every damn time. Kudos, Zoey. - Shiori 23:51, 6 April 2008 (CDT)

Terrence to Main Characters?

I know this is going to sound weird, but should Terrence count as a main character now? I mean, I know he's evil, but he's posted several blogs, he's got his own Bebo page and he appears in the "My Best Friends" box on the Bebo pages. Plus, he's now effectively the main villain of the series, so I think we can expect him to play a major role in the season finale. Bobby G 10:00, 14 June 2008 (CDT)

Gavin and Toe

Shouldn't Gavin and Toe be listed under recurring characters? Bobby G 16:02, 21 June 2008 (CDT)

Tariq

He needs to be in main characters. He was in the show most of the series and was a big part of it. He was in the show for some time too and did help plot movement. There would be no Julia if no Tariq.--Houdini 13:29, 5 July 2008 (CDT)

I'm glad you brought this up, because it is something that would be good to discuss. There seem to be eight characters who might qualify for the main characters section. Here they are with the number of videos they were in:
  • Charlie - 195
  • Gavin - 131
  • Steve - 124
  • Lee - 96
  • Julia - 90
  • Tariq - 77
  • Lauren - 67
  • Kate - 66
Now, I think it makes sense for Kate to be included since she is the namesake of the show and the entire plot was motivated by her. As for the others, I think Charlie, Gavin, and Steve definitely deserve a spot because of the video count and overall plot contribution. After this, things get a bit tricky. Lee and Julia were in both seasons, while Tariq really only played a role in Season 1 and Lauren didn't even come in until Season 2. We could include all eight characters, but for consistency's sake it would be nice if the main characters on this page corresponded with the character row on the portal. And having eight characters there looks bad in most resolutions because it overlaps on the left. Six seems to work nicely, so that would mean having Kate, Charlie, Gavin, Steve, Lee, and Julia. Of course, as always, opinions, comments, disagreements, etc. are encouraged. Oh, and there is a similar discussion about the loneygirl15 characters at Talk:Portal:Lonelygirl15#Character Row Post Aug 1. Thanks!--Jonpro 13:56, 5 July 2008 (CDT)
Ok thankyou. I see what you're saying now.--Houdini 14:58, 6 July 2008 (CDT)

The Final Recurring Characters

I'd like to know everyone else's thoughts on this before I make any changes, so please comment! Thanks. --Zoey 01:40, 26 July 2008 (CDT)
