style and such

I like the visual look of the templates that LB15 made, and it might be nice to adopt that here. I'm not that skilled, though.

Also, there may be other information that ought to be included in the template? --Brucker 12:30, 15 November 2006 (PST)

Well, I was playing with color schemes and stuff. Unfortunately, the curving only works in Firefox and this design looks really ugly in Internet Explore. Right now it's a table inside a box which is a lot of the problem. Why it's not necessarily centered correctly, etc. I'll play with it more later... I was also thinking it might be cool to incorporate the colors from the template:init into the boxes. --JayHenry 16:51, 2 March 2007 (CST)

Or this is an option? Based off those old character templates. It wouldn't take too long to make it conditional, make colors a variable, etc.--JayHenry 18:31, 2 March 2007 (CST)

If you can do it, I say go for it. It deosn't look nearly as nice on IE, but it doesn't suck, either. I suggest leaving off "Last appearance" though. Especially with a twisted story like this one I doubt that even seeing a character killed would mean no chance of ever seeing them again. In the case of Bree, we're going to have to update it pretty much every time a new video is posted. Also, do we need the name on there twice? -BRUCKER EyeBlueSmall.jpg (Home/Talk/Contribs) 18:41, 2 March 2007 (CST)
I like it smaller. I took out the second appearance of the name. Good catch. Bree, Jonas and Daniel would have to be updated at almost every video. So it sort of becomes a question of... does someone remember to update character pages after each video? We could write a reminder in the template, because I think it's a useful feature that provides a neat visual element to the template. If we think it won't get updated, or is too much a hassle, I'd like to find something else that could go there. List of Bree's vlogs should go on the template somewhere. Anything else?? --JayHenry 19:00, 2 March 2007 (CST)

I think I said it before, but I really think "Last appearance" is more trouble than it's worth. If everyone else doesn't mind updating Jonas's page every time a new video comes out, then so be it... -BRUCKER EyeBlueSmall.jpg (Home/Talk/Contribs) 01:31, 15 March 2007 (CDT)

Hmm, I'm with you. Maybe it could just say "ongoing" or something for characters still appearing regularly.--Jonpro 15:00, 21 March 2007 (CDT)
I don't really see that it's a significant burden to make a quick edit to the character pages. It only takes about 15 seconds a video to make the updates. If there were an issue of the pages not getting updated, I could see the concern. But so far myself and others have been good about doing it quickly. --JayHenry 15:17, 21 March 2007 (CDT)

Name/YouTube

Okay, I get it, but not every blogger has a YouTube account either. I changed it because the box on Soccerstar didn't include the category line because she only has a Revver account. I didn't realize that also created erroneous categories on other pages. Is there a way to have it display the category if EITHER the youtube or revver fields is present? I think that would fix our problem.--Jonpro 11:31, 25 April 2007 (CDT)

move to Template:Person

Just like we Moved Blog4 to Blog, we should Move Person2 to Person. I'd be willing to do the work if everyone agrees on it. -misty 12:34, 27 April 2007 (CDT)

Sounds fine to me. But before we do, we need to make sure it won't break any pages that are using {{Person}} right now. I don't think there's a significant difference between the two though, so that's not too big of an issue.--Jonpro 14:11, 27 April 2007 (CDT)
This is causing a lot of problems, more than just the soccer star one pointed out above. We need to check the pages with problems, and figure out what all needs fixed. Itscassie's is bad. Which other ones aren't working? Should be easy fixes. --JayHenry 14:51, 27 April 2007 (CDT)
the only problem I saw with itscassie was with the last video, I went through all the pages that used the old person template and fixed that problem -misty 15:16, 27 April 2007 (CDT)
Well, I was referring to the link to "Category:Cassie ("itscassie")'s blogs" which obviously doesn't exist. Actually, I'm not really sure it's a good idea to use this template for fan-fic characters in the first place. The template really should not be used on user pages either. --JayHenry 15:23, 27 April 2007 (CDT)
Hmmm, a somewhat related discussion is happening regarding the "{{{blogger}}}'s blog" categories at Category talk:Fan videos. Maybe we can reach a solution that will work for both of these.--Jonpro 15:26, 27 April 2007 (CDT)
Okay, I created an optional blogs field -- you can see how it works on Nikki Bower. --JayHenry 16:19, 27 April 2007 (CDT)

making fields conditional

I tried to make the first and last fields conditional, but I really don't know what I'm doing and I messed up twice. I think every feild that could be blank should be conditional -misty 19:36, 3 May 2007 (CDT)

Looking at the template code, I think if
| unseen = yes
is added, the labels will change from "Appearance" to "Mention". Maybe that's all we need.--Jonpro 20:30, 3 May 2007 (CDT)

Purchase info

I thought it would be nice if there was a field someone could fill in with purchase info for the stuffed characters. It could be like... you'd enter a URL and a site name and it would say

Available At: target.com (and target would list to the product page).

I think it might be helpful for anyone looking to purchase the animals.. and you know.. you just won't include that info for the human characters xD I'm not exactly sure how to format this.. the syntax confuses me a bit. But yeah. If anyone could add that (and no one has any objections to it or anything) I think it would be a great addition! thoughts? --Zoey 00:12, 7 May 2007 (CDT)

I'm all for it! LOL. It's good in case Paul and Andrea accidentally lose P Monkey. They can buy a new P Monkey! 72.77.92.54 10:22, 10 July 2007 (CDT)

Forum Post Link?

Any chance the Person profile template could include a link to that person'a posts on the LG15 in-character chats?? Seeing as they're being used more so than ever before (that, and that's a HUGE area of say, Taylor's involvement). What do you guys think?--Pheon 19:13, 23 June 2007 (CDT)

Good idea!! I added it! Still looking for someone to figure out how to do the purchase info for stuffed characters... *stares* --Zoey 19:49, 23 June 2007 (CDT)
That was QUICK! I actually just noticed you updating the template and I was about to test it myself, but by the time I clicked on Bree's profile, you had already taken on Taylor, Bree, AND Daniel! So I said to myself, 'Heh, best give this girl some room!' :P Thanks a bunch, Zoey, this'll make LGPedia/forum navigation THAT much easier!--Pheon 19:52, 23 June 2007 (CDT)
Lmao!! I'm a girl on a mission, what can I say ;D --Zoey 19:53, 23 June 2007 (CDT)
