The Ends Justify The Means is the twenty-ninth video in the OpAphid video series.

Transcript

(Braille letters flash on the black background four times.)

(A yellow Watcher eye appears, and then shatters to reveal Daniel tracking down the source of the disturbance of his cellular phone, and discovering the camera.)

(Daniel pushes his finger into the camera, and apparently causes it to stop filming.)

OpAphid: (OpAphid has her eyes closed.) Well played. But then again, clearly things have not gone according to plan. (Pause, while OpAphid opens her eyes.) Or have they?

(Camera shot enters OpAphid's cornea while playing mashed audio including "Listen to your enemies, for God is talking" and "A story is told as much by speech as by silence.")

(Camera pulls back out to reveal OpAphid, and heavy breathing is heard.)

OpAphid: Oh dear.

(Cut to yellow OpAPHID logo, while OpAphid herself is talking.)

OpAphid: We succeed only as we identify in life, or in war, or in anything else, a single overriding objective, and make all other considerations bend to that one objective.

Braille

The Braille letters have been identified as:

  • I, G, M, R, A, P, M, and E

Those letters anagram to the phrase "RIP Gemma," which verifies Gemma's death.

Overlayed Audio

The mashed audio while the camera shot is in OpAphid's cornea is understandably very difficult to hear. Some fans and listeners have heard, respectively:

  • "Listen to your enemy, for God is talking."
  • "And as such, you shall face our wrath."
  • "Never interrupt your enemy when he is making a mistake."

There is certainly much more, but we will assume that it is OpAphid's common quotes, such as "Oh dear" and "Heed this warning."

Quote

We succeed only as we identify in life, or in war, or in anything else, a single overriding objective, and make all other considerations bend to that one objective.

-Dwight Eisenhower

Description

Philosophers and French poets

A throw back to the description on Cassie Does Not R.I.P. (Rest In Peace)

Kruger and Dunning's observations

The Dunning-Kruger effect is the phenomenon whereby people who have little knowledge systematically think that they know more than others who have much more knowledge.

Song Quote

so next time a girl gives you the play just remember my rhyme and get the hell away

DJ Jazzy Jeff and Fresh Prince - Girls Ain't Nothin But Trouble

Notes

  • Viewers knew about Daniel's discovery of the hidden cameras long before this video was released because he had already commented on it in Undisclosed Location.
  • The snake eyes t-shirt that Daniel wears in this video is considered by some to represent his bad luck in this turn of events.
  • This video is incorrectly titled at lonelygirl15.com.
  • It would appear that Daniel is using an LG Chocolate, which works on the CDMA network. The electronic buzzing heard in the background can only be caused by phones on the GSM network.
