SORRY AND THANK YOU

I shouldn't have messed with the AphidPedia page. My bad. Newbieitis. I think I'll just stick to fixing minor errors until I get a little more familiar. Malan89 18:25, 14 March 2007 (CDT)

Hey Owen

Thanks for all the good edits. It's always refreshing to have another good editor on the LGpedia. Big thanks for the heads up about the Phorum 3 -- so weird that such a random page would get hit.--JayHenry 11:20, 1 December 2006 (CST)

Thanks for your help on the vandalism stuff. To tell you the truth, when I see spam vandalism by an unregistered user, I check their contribution history, and if it's the first time they've put in an edit, I assume it's probably a post-and-run spammer who won't be back and don't bother giving them a warning. I don't think anything's likely to happen beyond a warning unless they are a repeat offender. If they are a genuine troublemaker, they'd probably get blocked from editing. --Brucker 12:39, 1 December 2006 (CST)

Thanks for the compliment Owen i appreciate it :D. I just happened to notice that this music listing was created here in the LGpedia so i thought i would give it a shot. It took me a second to understand the coding format deal (which i noticed somebody revised haha) but i think i got it now. For a while i have been keeping a pretty thorough listing in the Music section on the forums. Just thought i would throw anything in that i noticed here. There are still a bunch of tracks i haven't found and unknowns in the music which i wish the Creators would clear up but i will keep at it for rizzle. --Livelongandprosper77 5:03p.m., 24 January 2007 (CST)

Oh yeah i didn't give ya a link to my masterpiece lol. http://www.lonelygirl15.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=701&start=7

There ya go use it anyway ya want i is here to help :D. Lol i need to hang out in LGpedia more because i totally had no idea a soundtrack section had started here till yesterday. --Livelongandprosper77 5:24p.m., 24 January 2007 (CST)

Hello, I was just wondering about the LL page? Is it suitable now? And if not, the GC page is very nice. - User Crowcity

Hi, Owen! Thanks for the note. I have been looking at other pages to see how things have been done - seems to be a great way to figure things out. Didn't want to put that pic into the article - just wanted to refer/direct folks back to it...thinking about it, not sure that's even really needed. Believe me, if I need immediate help, I won't even have to leave a message on your page or Brucker's - you'll be able to hear me hollering from here :D (but I will leave a note for one or the other of you). Since Jay took me in hand, I figured stuff that wasn't time critical could sit till someone let him back in the door when he got back... <chuckle> Anyway, little by little, I'm finding things (found the pictures-by-category by going to Brucker's page...wouldn't be a bad idea to have a nice site map of Useful Stuff for wiki-wacky folks who're working back here...or have I just not stumbled on that yet...? <blink>) -- Chershaytoute 09:15, 23 February 2007 (CST)

<smacks forehead> Found the category list...who'da thunk? Amazing how that worked out! Thanks for pre-reading my thoughts and already having one of those! <shaking head...and carefully massaging poor smacked forehead> -- Chershaytoute (moments later!)

Hey i was wondering about the "List of lonelygirl15 video" page. because certain videos are not in the order that they should be in. they are being put in the order of the posting date on youtube and i think that they should be organized in a way so its more understandable. i dont think that the dates matter as much. like these video titles;

Which Side Are You On? (Keep This In Mind) [The Op video should be after the video by bree; I Listened To Daniel LG, Because the which side are you on video is under video 54# Where's Daniel? and i dont think it has any reference to that episode.

Feel free to correct me if im wrong but i think some of these videos are listed completly out of the order they should be in.

- Michiev

Hi Michiev,
Thanks for letting me know that the current order isn't intuitive. My understanding is that the OpAphid videos are put into that list depending on the numbering assigned to them by the Creators when those episodes were "moved to the left bar" of the lonelygirl15.com website. Where's Daniel? is #54, and Disclosure: Cassie. We Are "They" is #54b. Which Side Are You On? (Keep This In Mind) (the one you said has no reference to Where's Daniel) is #54c.
I hope it's ok with you that I'm copying this discussion to Talk:List of Lonelygirl15 videos so that others may weight in. Personally I'd rather go by the numbers, but I think we should be concerned if those numbers don't make sense to people.

A word about templates

I like the fact that you edited all the userboxes into a category, but in the future, keep in mind that those extra line breaks that appear outside of the <noinclude> tags will show up on the pages where the template is used. --Brucker 14:20, 4 December 2006 (CST)

Don't worry too much about it, the wiki is new, even the admins are on a bit of a learning curve. The above was just an FYI. --Brucker 11:04, 5 December 2006 (CST)

cite.php

read your to-do list item about cite.php -- TWJaniak has that on his to-do list. I think he's a little swamped right now as it appears JSmith has left the LGPedia web staff.--JayHenry 13:59, 10 December 2006 (CST)

Awesome, thanks for noticing and letting me know! Naturally, it's not an urgent thing, so I understand he has other stuff to worry about right now. I'll keep a lookout for when this is available, thx! OwenIsCool 14:22, 10 December 2006 (CST)

Cite.php

I tried adding Cite.php to the LGpedia a few weeks ago. I downloaded, installed and configured all the necessary files on the server, but when I went live with the changes, the LGpedia crashed and burned. I don't know what went wrong, but I plan on trying again in the next few days. I feel a functional citation system has become a necessity. -- Twjaniak 22:28, 12 December 2006 (CST)

UPDATE: The Cite.php extension has been added. Now you you can make footnotes to your heart's content! -- Twjaniak 14:33, 13 December 2006 (CST)
Thank you! I saw you told JayHenry that you had to upgrade the whole 'pedia. Wow... can't have been a snap, thanks for making it happen! I shall faithfully implement citations now. OwenIsCool 19:37, 13 December 2006 (CST)

Kool Twj, you should do Lgpedia more ofton when u can that is...--Iris2009 14:42, 13 December 2006 (CST)

Links to Music page

Hi Todd, LG15 Soundtrack is up-to-date! Now that the "soundtrack" page is built, I'm not sure what's the best way to deal with the music information contained in the various blog articles. Some include links to the artists' LGPedia page, which redirects to the LG15 music page. Others have external links to their band webpages. Some have these links within the template and others have it embedded in the transcript. To keep things consistent and direct everyone to the LG15 Soundtrack as much as possible (because it often more complete info on links for listening to the songs and to the bands' pages), I was thinking perhaps a minor change could be made to the Blog3 template. Just as typing in Bree Phone Home as the next video would produce Bree Phone Home automatically, I thought perhaps we could have it so that "The tale of room 620 by Ehren Starks" would automatically show The tale of room 620 by Ehren Starks (linking to LG15 Soundtrack). I don't know much about templates, but from what I see, it looks like this:

! Music {{!}} {{{song}}} |}}

could be replaced with something along the lines of:

! Music {{#if: {{{Music|}}} | "[[{{{LG15 Soundtrack|Music}}}]]" | none}}

I'm not sure if I got that right, but I hope it conveyed the message. I saw you made the majority of edits to Blog3, so I thought it'd be best to let you take care of any changes made to it (esp since they affect so many pages!). If you like the change and want to implement it, I'd have no problem going through the blog articles to make sure it's being used correctly in all of them.

OwenIsCool 18:53, 18 December 2006 (CST)

This can't actually be done without a major change to the template and edits to all of the documents that have used Blog3 so far. Instead you can do what I have done with the entry for the song of the latest video and the LG15 Soundtrack page. A <div> tag needs to encapsulate the name of the song on the soundtrack page to act as an anchor for the link from the video's page. Refer to the source code for both the song entry on Bree Phone Home and the corresponding entry on the soundtrack page for an example of how this should be formatted. Do NOT use spaces in the anchor's name; instead uses underscores and remember that link and anchor names are case-sensitive. -- Twjaniak 09:38, 19 December 2006 (CST)

Where is OIC?

If you don't come back and start editing again I'm honestly going to cry.--JayHenry 12:30, 10 January 2007 (CST)

OIC! I'm so glad you're back! Yay!! Could you send me a PM or e-mail? You can e-mail me through thd Wiki or I'm JayHank at the forum (I have no clue who, if anyone, you are over there). Oh, and p.s. Kenneth Goodfried is Greg Goodfried's father. I need to add a page on him!--JayHenry 22:34, 14 January 2007 (CST)
Okay, well, no need to PM. OIC, would you be interested in being an admin? It's silly for you to always have to ask Brucker and I to delete nonsense pages or ask us to block vandals. You've proven you're a good, trustworthy editor. What do you say?--JayHenry 16:39, 15 January 2007 (CST)
Hi JayHenry,
Sorry I didn't PM you earlier! Got caught up editing as usual =) I'm honored by your suggestion and would love to give it a try!
Disclaimer: I still have a lot to learn... but so far you and Brucker have been a great help so no doubt I'll be able to get the hang of it.
Best,
OwenIsCool 17:24, 15 January 2007 (CST)
You're an admin now. Remember, with great power comes great responsibility.--JayHenry 18:59, 15 January 2007 (CST)

Bree's Myspace

I don't want to bother you OIC, but I'm not sure how to handle the issue of Bree's Myspace. It disappeared yesterday, and was listed in the recent events, but I checked it today, and it's back. I listed its return in the recent events. Should we add something about her Myspace's disappearance and reappearance to Bree or MySpace? -- tai 19:42, 27 January 2007 (CST)

Thanks for the help! I added it to the MySpace page, and tried to wikify the page a bit while I was at it. -- tai 21:21, 27 January 2007 (CST)

In case your wondering, i am the one that fixed Bree's myspace, click this link to read about it. http://www.lonelygirl15.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=174222&highlight=#174222 --Iris2009 14:12, 28 January 2007 (CST)

That was nice of you to grab the URL for the Creators while they got everything back together. Thanks for sharing. OwenIsCool 14:38, 28 January 2007 (CST)

All in a days of work, i help restore the site to the orignal and i ran it till the orginal was restored and then gave it back to The Creators. --Iris2009 15:27, 28 January 2007 (CST)

101 DARNVANDALS

That was about as much fun as being hit with a barrel of rocks..is there a way to revert faster or do editors have a one touch button..you were a lot faster than me. --LordGreystoke422 19:57, 29 January 2007 (CST)

When I go to a recent edit, I see a link that says "[rollback]". I don't know if only Admins have it. --Brucker 20:14, 29 January 2007 (CST)
Geez, we sure picked the wrong time to all be away from the LGPedia for an hour. Are we sure that we fixed all the damage that f****r did?--JayHenry 21:32, 29 January 2007 (CST)
I went through and double-checked all edits from that time period; I'm pretty sure LG422 and OiC got them all straightened out. --Brucker 10:32, 30 January 2007 (CST)

How to Lose Friends and Abuse People

I am working on my new book titled the above...I'll autograph you a copy. It comes out right after I finish my tour of the middle schools. As to the self-nomination thing... I wouldn't do that. I would be vehemently against that. As for the self editing..I'd rather be reading a book..but..as bad as it is at the moment..people actually have looked at it and said..OH..I understand your videos now..so..thats why I do it. I am doing it for some coherence. One thing you will learn is that I am as hard on myself as I am on others. As to the Youmomissmarmy thing here is a vast difference between exclusion/inclusion and featuring. Aditionally the biggest reason I am against it is LL's jacking of the Cassie line.let me say..that doesnt anger me..thats what the creators are about..EXPANSION which inherently involves some jacking.. Too few people really understand the CiW thing these days with itscassie's appearance..and the more recent cassie mentions by Bree. Now with Frankiswaking bringing her up.. I REALLY would rather not have a recent article featured that adds to the mainstream cassie confusion. Part of the reason I busted Crows chops a little is that he told me to lighten up..kinda not in my nature....actually probably more in my nurture come to think about it..but this isn't the place for that and if we got into that you might send me a bill for the analysis. Seriously though OIC..I joke pretty dead pan and harshly..but..I am consistent cause I do it to myself as well.. I appreciate your calling me on my seeming lack of consistency but really I am just telling them to toughen up a bit..cause based on my personal experiences..what I said to them was nothing compared to what others may say as they get more exposure. --LordGreystoke422 09:56, 30 January 2007 (CST)

Guess I don't need to ask

I thought about it after I made the video that I should have checked with you 3 first about mentioning you guys..granted you are Admins..but..its a vid..so..I still shoulda checked..I got a proposal to remove it if it "offended"(Don't laugh damn you)...on Jay's Talk and got called away before I made it to do the same on your page. I had the video already planned..and a conversation with someone this morning..in between abusing a few people..made me mention the squelching of info. It seems that the person I talked to said their articles get deleted all the time...etc..and not by you guys. Anyway..glad you liked it.. Now..Hopefully it does some good..we will see..since you like it..I will post it on the tube. Send me a PM or an AIM..same name..so we can discuss this squelching. Seems to have been costing us at least one decent editor.--LordGreystoke422 21:16, 30 January 2007 (CST)

apologies

hey - i reread that comment about one of my edits that you made on my page and i jumped at you about, and i guess i misunderstood some of what you said, sorry i snapped at you. i was just irritated that you were irritated by my sarcasm, and i kind of disregarded everything else you said.--Skeeta 23:10, 31 January 2007 (CST)

I think a lot of us get tunnel vision on posts and fingers fly and we get one or 2 words wrong in our heads and... BOOYA!.. Misunderstanding. On another note.. I am being bad right now..shhhhhh....mischevious bugger that I am. Mwahahah. A boy needs a little fun. --LordGreystoke422 23:50, 2 February 2007 (CST)
Good point, LordGreystoke422. It's hard to convey tone in a post, so it's easier to misunderstand people. And yes, I just saw you were terrorizing those GC people again. If Ms. Kelly were here she'd set you straight. OwenIsCool 11:47, 3 February 2007 (CST)

Deriders

Thanks for the note on 87..whatever the number was's talk. I'd say it is the same guy that got banned. He's actually a bit funny..and could contribute if he played right.. It sounds like he wants to create his own story..but doesn't want to make a video. If he did make a video I would say have at it..but..I am sure he doesn't want to be subjected to his own treatment. I wouldn't make a harsh video response...not ME! NEVER! --LordGreystoke422 16:39, 7 February 2007 (CST)

I sent you a email did you get it.--Iris2009 21:50, 11 February 2007 (CST)

Hi Iris,
Thanks for letting me know you emailed me, I don't check it otherwise. I hope you don't mind if I reply here since it's not a private matter. I'm sorry if you wasted your time emailing the creators about the Lucy thing. It was clear from the edit made to The Human Ransom that Amanda Goodfried played Lucy. When Admin makes an edit, you can safely assume that it's the creators. That's why I went ahead and made the changes to Amanda's and Jessi Williams's articles. Thanks for taking the time and double-checking, though in the future keep in mind that it's not necessary to confirm edits from the Admin account.

Hey, here's what it is http://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/CategoryTree_extension --TJ Marsh 17:43, 14 February 2007 (CST)

Iris,
I suspect that you're not being entirely honest. The extension described in this link doesn't sound like what you explained earlier. I also saw that you just made an edit to that extension's article to state that you yourself had worked on it. Yes, your static IP address was recorded on that edit that you made less than ten minutes ago on a Wikipedia article that you've never worked on before. This all makes me a little skeptical. Best leave the webmastering to BrokenKid, ok? And do realize that anyone can look up a wiki article's history.

Differnt screen resolutions can cause so much trouble. I notice a lot of the time that stuff that looks one way here at work looks entirely differnt at home. --Brucker 12:19, 26 February 2007 (CST)

Talk Page

If you looked at the talk page, you would see that the general feeling was to take Gemma out. This was run by anybody who bothered to look at the talk page, including some mods. The table did look bad, though. If you wanted to keep Gemma, YOU should have said so in the talk page. Malan89 10:02, 18 March 2007 (CDT)

Another CSS request

We need a kind of red telephone for this... :D
Could you add

#hoverTOC {
	width: 70px;
	height: 20px;
	overflow: hidden;
	background-color: #F9F9F9;
	border: 1px solid #aaaaaa;
	text-align: center;
}
#hoverTOC:hover {
	width: auto;
	height: auto;
	background-color: transparent;
	border: 1px none #aaaaaa;
}
#hoverTOCtitle {
	font-weight: bold;
}
#hoverTOC:hover #hoverTOCtitle {
	display: none;
}

to the CSS please? It should reduce the TOC-size on the LOLG15V Redesign considerably. (See Template:HoverTOC)
Thanks in advance :)

Hmm... looks like the protection was cancelled when we deleted the page to do the selective restore. Well, as long as the spam vandalism doesn't come back, I'm happy to leave the page unprotected. I hate to protect a talk page that's so prominent. p.s. it's been great seeing you at the Cove! Character Pages

Hey Owen, I had a quick question. I was looking at Bree's char. page and I noticed that there are things that are written in present tense, even though they are no longer happening. (For example, there is something along the lines of "Bree is Daniel's love interest." and also something reffering to her parent's being strict.) Now, Daniel (from what we can tell) is no longer interested in Bree and also, Bree's father is dead (again, from what we can tell) and she doesn't live with her mother. So, should things like this be changed to past tense or be kept how they are? Chelseyrl 20:26, 8 April 2007 (CDT)

Revert

I just had one question. Is reverting just going back in the history and replacing the new, unwanted things back to the old or is it something else? I hope that made sense... Chelseyrl 01:59, 6 May 2007 (CDT)

please comment on character/redesign

I've done alot of work on the character redesign, and I've asked for feedback on the talk page for the changes I've made. So far I've gotten at most 1 reply on each change of the most recent changes. I would like to get some more feedback. -misty 00:27, 8 May 2007 (CDT)
