Hi Renegade, I'm the person who made all those changes of the blogger to the vid-They Broke In! Sorry I had no idea that it had They Broke In!!! was supposed to be a Bree video! It just assumed that someone who didn't know that Spencer had filmed it. Thanks for notifying (sp?) me. Thanks!

Hi Renegade, I saw that you're planning on doing some work on the AphidPedia. I think that's great! We're always looking for talented editors who understand the ARG. I wanted to let you know that so far, TigerLilyLynn and Shifty have done a lot of work on the OpAphid section of the wiki. You might want to send them a message at the forums and let them know about the redesign, so they can help contribute ideas. (And maybe you've already done this, but if not, just wanted to give you a heads-up). I'm looking forward to what you come up with, and if I have any good ideas I'll be sure to pitch in. Thanks!--JayHenry 12:57, 18 February 2007 (CST)

Hi Renegade,
Saw your work on redesigning AphidPedia. Like JayHenry, I'm always happy to have more editors who know about the ARG enough to take on work like this. I noticed you made Template Tac and Bro so you could use the icons. I think what you needed was already embodied in Template:Init. The way to use it is to write {{Init|Tachyon}}, which gives TAC. If you do {{Init|Brother}} you get BRO. Same for Op and pretty much any character that makes a blog. You can see all the options at Template talk:Init. Let me know if this is what you needed. That way we can avoid having duplicate templates. Again, thanks for your work on the wiki!
OwenIsCool 16:04, 18 February 2007 (CST)

Sorry about that. I actually had a look through the template namespace to avoide creating dupes, but "init" isn't exactly descriptive...could you use your mighty powers to kill them?
And, while you're at it, have a look at my request on Template:Aphidblock?
And I'm on Tigerlilylynn and Shifty's talk pages right now to invite them to comment.
Renegade 16:14, 18 February 2007 (CST)
You can find most of our templates at category:templates. Init is short for "initials." The reason we don't get into it on the help page is because most of our new editors are new to wikis and so we don't spend a lot of time on meta-documentation. If you ever have questions, feel encouraged to just ask OwenIsCool or me or Brucker on our talk pages. BTW, I love the AphidBlock -- thanks for doing that! --JayHenry 19:32, 18 February 2007 (CST)
No problem. Sorry you couldn't find the template--is there anything we could have done to make it easier to find?
I took a look at the Aphidblock template... unfortunately I'm not a very code-savvy editor, so I actually didn't even understand the question *looks down embarassedly* Best to check with Brucker or JayHenry. Do let me know if you need help with anything else... I might be more useful next time.
Thanks for getting Shify and Tigerlilylynn involved, I'm sure they'll have lots of good input.

I, personally, am a fan of central template catalogues, something like Help:Templates or LGPedia:Templates. But some links on the Help pages might work as well. Just an overview of what's available.
And, about aphidblock. I've basically prepared everything:
The link leads to Mediawiki:Monobook.css - that file gets included in this skin's style directives; you can see, for example, how the background is defined. Now I provided some code - that code will recolor the links in aphidblock to the lighter greenish color I also used on the AphidPedia redesign.
So all you'd have to do is copy the code I provided, follow the link, hit edit, paste, and hit save.
Pretty please? :) :)
Renegade 17:12, 18 February 2007 (CST)
I did what you said, but I don't see any difference. uh-oh. OwenIsCool 17:17, 18 February 2007 (CST)
I do, don't worry. ;) You probably just have a cached stylesheet. Try holding down shift while pressing refresh on the AphidPedia redesign page. This forces (in Firefox, at least) the browser to reload all elements from the server. You should then see the links turn green rather than blue or violet in the aphidblock template at the bottom.
Thanks a lot. :)
Renegade 17:23, 18 February 2007 (CST)
Ahh, I can see it now. Glad I could help! OwenIsCool 17:45, 18 February 2007 (CST)--JayHenry 19:32, 18 February 2007 (CST)

Thanks for letting me know. I didn't notice. I'll stop. Sorry. (crawls into corner) --FH14

List of Lonelygirl15 videos

Hey Renegade,
I didn't want to keep bulking up Talk:List of Lonelygirl15 videos, so I'm leaving a message here. Thanks for trying to work something out that makes a nice looking list. I don't want you do go through an inordinate amount of work to put in Javascript or have to write long code or anything. Even if IE users don't get anything nearly as nice as what you just made, I'm happy with anything that's just better-looking than a plain list. I'm not demanding that they get the added functionality, just to have something that doesn't look drab. If you can think of a simple solution that can maybe display some pictures for them, or make the formatting pretty, that's probably good enough. I also wanted to say great job with the Help: pages. They also look great! I gotta learn me some css!
OwenIsCool 12:59, 19 March 2007 (CDT)

Thanks :)
I was thinking of something image-based, more colorful. Keeping the basic layout of the list as it is right now, but generally making it look nicer. I'll include VidExpand, but there's no way (I know of) to make it work for IE - it just doesn't support the necessary tag. On the other hand, that's why I designed it to look almost the same for them...they'll have the same list, but better looking, and we'll have the better looking expandable list. And the most change outside the page it'll need is a certain someone visiting Monobook.css once again ;)

Help:Editing

The new help:editing page looks fantastic!! I wonder if we should make that the help page in the sidebar, and move the stuff in help:contents to its own subsection? --JayHenry 00:13, 20 March 2007 (CDT)

Thanks :)
Do you mean taking the same page, and adding the contents of Help:Contents to the bottom of it? And I could just port the design to Help:Contents - so Contents would look the same as Editing, but with its own content? (Still being the Help Frontpage)
~ Renegade (talk | contribs) 08:21, 20 March 2007 (CDT)
Well, what do you think keeps things the simplest? Right now, the Help:Editing that you designed does a better job of actually organizing the contents of the LGPedia's puny help section. So maybe just make Help:Editing the help frontpage and scrap help:contents all together? --JayHenry 10:22, 21 March 2007 (CDT)
I think the problem, in this case, is the overlapping of content. Help:Content, by design, should be a front page for all help, while Help:Editing should contain help related to actually editing pages. Right now, the biggest sections on Content are Editing and Formatting and Adding a new page, other editing-related categories.
I think what we should do is move these sections to Help:Editing, or even own pages linked to from Help:Editing, and use Help:Content for help related to general usage of LGPedia - that way, a confused newbie can instinctively click on "Help" in the sidebar, and gets help on how to use LGPedia, while someone clicking "Editing help" while editing a page purely gets help on editing.

Thank you!

Template:Hardwork
A small token of our appreciation for your work. You designed the uber cool Template:Aphidblock and the great Template:VidExpand that made the List of Lonelygirl15 videos/redesign possible. Thank you for also developing a nicer layout that would improve the page for IE users, even though they should know better. Your willingness to tweak your design and listen to others' concerns and suggestions makes you a great LGPedian!
OwenIsCool 14:10, 26 March 2007 (CDT)

Thank you :) ...but I couldn't have done it without all your help!

Image:Brother sidebar.jpg

Sorry, one had to go, and the jpg one was linked to more. I don't think I realized that the png file was being used on your page when I deleted it. Otherwise, I would have changed it to the jpg one and then deleted it :)--Jonpro 15:16, 28 March 2007 (CDT)

Well, we could restore it if Renegade wanted it for his userpage. It wouldn't be the first image on this site that's uploaded solely for userpage display. I'd just make it clear in the description that it's a userpage image. Just out of curiosity, why do you say this .png is superior? I think jpgs display best on this site. .pngs sometimes don't work right, and .gifs tend to produce grainy-looking thumbnails. Or maybe that's just my compy. OwenIsCool 16:11, 28 March 2007 (CDT)
Nah, I didn't use it. I merely linked to it. I just can't understand why people still prefer JPEG over PNG. (Links for Owen: [1] [2])
It's fine the way it is, there is no need to restore anything. But thanks for even thinking about it :)

Bot flag

Yeah, but I couldn't think of a way to get the bot to do it. I could have logged in as the bot and done it, but I'd like to only make actual "bot" edits with the bot.--Jonpro 11:52, 29 March 2007 (CDT)

Did I mention this "OMFG YOU DIDN'T ENTER A SUMMARY!!!!" stuff annoys me?

If it annoys you then turn it off. As with all MediaWiki installations it's an option in preferences under the editing tab. Click the box that says "Prompt me when entering a blank edit summary"... --JayHenry 11:30, 8 April 2007 (CDT)

Hmm...weird. I didn't take a setting into account because it only prompted me on talk pages as far as I could tell...oh well, thank you :)

Wow

What you did in Zoey's sandbox, truly amazing. Just amazing. I just want to let you know that you are amazing. Love, -R- 23:59, 12 July 2007 (CDT)

Hey Renegade

Can you help me create a missions page, i here your good with codes. I made a lousy attemp to start it on my sandbox page.--Houdini 22:39, 25 July 2007 (CDT)

I just wanted to say wow, I'm a dork about the Jonas's>Jonas' stuff. I knew the rule but... completely spaced on that one. Sorry! Chelseyrl 12:25, 30 July 2007 (CDT)

Thanks

Hey, thanks Renegade for reverting all that stuff last night. Looks like xwestsidex went on a rampage or something. From looking at Recent changes it looks like you kept up with him pretty well. I finally got him blocked, but it's too bad there wasn't another admin on last night to do it sooner. Anyway, thanks again and your work is much appreciated here.--Jonpro 07:22, 31 July 2007 (CDT)

No prob at all...but he threatened he'd be back.

Hi Renegade, Guess what..You just became the third faggot imma be raggin on. Your friends Jonpro and Broken Kid already fucked up. Now imma do you just like I did them. You can help stop all this from happening, just by SIMPLY getting Jonpro to apologize to me for his hating and admit that im the biggest pimp on the LG15 forums, mkay? This is why bad things keep happening. Its because Jonpro never apologized for his actions. If he doesn't know what im talking about, tell him to find the page where he said "Congratulations! Have a fun week off" and admit his mistakes there.

Or else shit that happened last night is going to have to happen tomorrow, too..,mkay...and it will be much too quick to only last a minute this time...

-xwestsidex

omgomgomg...some ridiculous internet-kid is threatening me!!! OMG!!!
In case you didn't realize it...you "fucked up" nobody. BK isn't even here, and Jonpro doesn't give a shit about you.
Even if you manage to be the quick, we'll just roll in an SQL backup and it'll all be gone.
So the rainbow fairy says: Shut the fuck up, whiney bitch. Every of your actions justifies Jonpro's actions a hundred times over and will make him less likely to apologize. But it's not like the tiny puddle of shit you call your brain would understand such a simple relation, anyway, is it?
Fuck off.

Re:Template:Spoiler

Thanks, I understand. And to be honest, I stole the design from Template:Humor *blushes* AGH Love, Randy (Say Wha'? | Whachu Doin'?) [9:05 PM, Central Daylight]

Userbox Thanks

Just wanted to say thanks!! I think the 12in12 userbox looks fantastic! Now, I don't know how to make it active, so if that's your cup of tea, feel free to help me there too! :P --Pheon 11:16, 5 September 2007 (CDT)

Characters

No problem. My original idea was to have an all-encompassing characterbox template but I didn't have the time/expertise and everyone was giving me loads of feedback to incorporate, so I created the Mini and Micro as shortcuts. I noticed that the blurb is no longer vertically and horizontally centred... is there an option/variable to allow and change this if required? Psmith 13:01, 13 September 2007 (CDT)

Ah, point taken. I guess the only reason I did that was because I would feel bad about blocking someone whose intent was not to vandalize. I'll go ahead and black that spammer for all he's worth (i.e. infinitely).--Jonpro 19:58, 12 October 2007 (CDT)
