Rachel: Back at college, I am amazed that I made it through an entire two semesters with my roommate Zoey, who considered her space and my space, our space. Most of the time she would just, randomly blurt out things hoping to start up a conversation. Regardless of whether or not I actually wanted to talk. So I would be trying to study, and then all of the sudden she would just hit me out of nowhere with (Imitation of Zoey) "Oh My God! I love applesauce! Do you love applesauce Rachel? Oh My God! Have you seen that movie 0332280? Oh my god it's such a good movie!" (sigh of exasperation) But my personal favorites were the times when she would ask me something along the lines of "How much do you think it costs to get a mystic tan?" Or where she could rent roller skates. Because clearly if you talk to me for five minutes, you would realize that I am a total expert on these topics. I think that's part of the reason why I focused so much attention on my relationship with Jordan last year. He had his own place, and I could go there and escape from my roommate. Don't get me wrong, I did try to be nice to her. I mean, any attempt at sarcasm just went right over her head. Deep down, I also had the fear that, it would just encourage her. And before you knew it, we'd be giving each other makeovers and the movie 0094715 would be on in the background, in an endless loop. And then of course we would have little-spirited arguments over who would be the wind beneath the other's wings and finally the whole argument would end in "Whoever died first would be the designated person as the wind." (Rachel shakes her head with a terrified look on her face). I confessed all of this to Aly, and I knew we would totally get along when she said, "It must have been cold there in her shadow." You know it's funny. For two girls that hate that song so much, it's weird that we both know the words.

Oh My God! Have you seen that movie The Notebook? And before you knew it, we'd be giving each other makeovers and the movie Beaches would be on in the background, in an endless loop.
