You Thought It Was Over? is the eighteenth video in the LG15: Outbreak video series.

Transcript

(Several clips from "Catching Up, Closing Out " play.)

Mason: I'm gonna try and start over. So you can consider this my official resignation from all of this madness. In truth, I've been looking for an opportunity to just get out and, uh, I think this is it. I just want my life back. So... it's over.

(The clip fades to black and white and zooms on Mason's face. Yellow text appears on the video.)

Text: ...you thought it was over? ...it's not over.

(Cut to black.)

Text: they've just started playing.

(A clip from "The 39 Steps" fades in, showing the inside of Richard Hannay's apartment. Cut to Annabella Smith stumbling into his Richard's bedroom carrying a piece of paper.)

Annabella: Clear out, Hannay! They'll get you next!

(Annabella coughs and stumbles before falling dead onto Richard's bed, revealing that she has been stabbed in the back.)

Text: ...pay close attention to what I'm telling you.

(A telephone begins ringing. Cut to a shot of the telephone. The camera pans out as Richard enters, wiping his hands with a handkerchief. He reaches for the phone before deciding to look outside instead..)

Text: this is way too important to ignore

(Cut to an exterior scene, showing someone standing across the street at a telephone booth. Cut to Richard glancing at the telephone. Cut to the exterior scene once again. Annabella's face appears over the scene.)

Annabella: What you were laughing at (Static fills the screen for a split-second.) just now is true. (Turns to look at Richard.) These men (The text "HI-FI" appears on-screen.) will stop at nothing.

(The video turns sepia tone as it appears to roll out of film. Similarly, the image of a pocketwatch appears. Ticking is heard as several symbols scroll across the screen. As the symbols come to an end, the video transitions back to the ringing telephone. Cut to Annabella on screen.)

Annabella: What you were laughing at just now (Static fills the screen for a split-second.) is true. (Turns to look at Richard.) These men (The text "HI-FI" appears on-screen.) will stop at nothing.

(The video appears to rewind itself to the beginning of the start of the "movie". Specs and images are shown flipping around randomly. Numbers later appear on the video.)

Notes

  • The movie scenes from "The 39 Steps" are one continuous sequence from the original film, taking place from 14:42 to 15:48.
  • The symbols seen on-screen translate to "I will help find her but you will need to wait until it is safe. I'm sending you a package that will put you on the right track." For more information, see LG15: Outbreak puzzles.
  • The pocketwatch seen in this video was produced by the American Waltham Watch Co. sometime between 1885 and 1907. It has a hunter-case and chain, and appears to have a crown-wind, lever-set movement, which was mandatory for railroad watches at the time. No more information about it can be determined without a serial number. The times it displays are 2:28:01 - 2:28:21. For more information about what all this means, visit the pocketwatch page on Wikipedia.
