Talk:Tannhaus

Tannhaus does have a series called "A Thelemite Speaks" and is an editor at LGpedia. He has clearly stated that he is a Thelemite. We can have article about his vids, but the way this reads now is not a good start. I'm going to "revise it", but I don't have time right now to write anything in depth. Why is the 98 at the end? Thanks to the person who submitted this btw --Tannhaus 19:19, 1 February 2007 (CST)

I don't know, I thought your username on both YouTube and Revver was just Tannhaus. We should change it if it's wrong. OwenIsCool 20:00, 1 February 2007 (CST)

It is just tannhaus. It's short for Tannhauser...who was a german knight in the 1300s --Tannhaus 20:04, 1 February 2007 (CST)

All fixed now =)

Article vs User Page

Alot of the info here is about the user Tannhaus, and not about the video series; does that information belong in this article or should it be moved to User: Tannhaus ? -misty 16:30, 12 April 2007 (CDT)

The page reads like a biography of him...like the ones for celebrities on wikipedia. Given that he his neither a character nor production staff or LG15, I vote for moving this to his userpage and leaving a notice at the top saying "This page is about the video series. For the user producing it, see User:Tannhaus." or something.

(Trivia fact[s]: "Tanne" is the German word for Fir [tree], "Häuser" is the plural of "Haus", the German spelling of "House". "Tannhäuser" could either refer to multiple houses made of fir, or may have originally been a possessive of the family name, as in the name starting out as "Tannhaus", and people talking about the "Tannhäuser Gut" ("Tannhaus Manor"); alternatively, Wikipedia mentions a town "Tannhausen", which can very, very roughly be translated as "Firtown", giving "Tannhäuser" a meaning of "from the village of Firtown".
What's most curious, though, is that German Wikipedia does not mention him being a knight - it speaks of the legend calling him a knight, carefully making sure to always put words like "legend", "myth" or "sage" close to it.)
Bored yet? Good. I'm going to bed. Night all :P
I think it'd be best to leave all the information where it is. This isn't Wikipedia and our guidelines (vague and blurry as they are sometimes), are different. Generally when people just create a page about themselves, we redirect their misguided efforts to their userpage. In Tannhaus's case, he made his own series and that series gets its own page. As usual, the name of the "user" serves as the article title for the page on the series (itscassie, QtheC, you get the picture). The article is a little lengthy, but if Jessica Rose edited the wiki, you wouldn't move her bio to User:JessicaRose, right? If anything, it might be worthwhile to separate the content about Tannhaus from the description and synopsis of his "A Thelemite Speaks" series. If anyone is interested in watching the series so they can write said page, the links are on this article. OwenIsCool 18:09, 12 April 2007 (CDT)
Actually with Jessica Rose it's a littel different since she is Part of LG15, but even still if she went on about a bunch of personal stuff like when she met her first boyfreind, how she feels about Jesus, what made her decide to move to Los Angeles, etc. I would think that kind of stuff should be moved to her User Page, and if she tried to put any biograpical info about herself on the loneleygirl15 page I would delete it. Doing a video series doesn't make a persons personal biography relevent to LG15. I think Tannhaus talking about himself here is like if Jessica Rose talked about herself on the Lonelygirl15 page -misty 18:48, 12 April 2007 (CDT)

For the record Tannhaus is probably one of the most significant people ever to have participated in the community and as such this page should be considered part of the 'historical preservation project'.--modelmotion 04:13, 12 August 2008 (CDT)
