You're holding out hope and love for people who created an ARG and abandoned it. They burned you once before, and now you're defending them after holding out hope they'd come back to you. i think her dad's character is just like that. judging from the way she talks about him in her early videos, he doesn't seem like the lovey dovey type. he seems to me very professional and kindof cold. i'm not trying to imply that i think he doesn't love her, i just think the coldness is part of his personality. if her dad had left the message crying saying "bree it's me, we love you and miss you..", and had been all emotional, i would have definitely doubted it... i dunno. just my thoughts... |
Thats kind of the impression I had about Bree's dad professional, kind of cold and serious......and maybe a little naive or dumb (if he really didn't know what he was involving himself and his daughter in)  |

I think this shows a lot of thought was put into it, and as someone said before it was almost an "elegant" way of dealing with it.
They waited long enough (2 months) to know that CiW wasn't coming back, so they decided to reclaim THEIR character Cassie that CiW jacked in the first place.
They've handled it pretty well, all things considered, even going as far as to let the FAN FICTION CiW be explained within the CANON lonelygirl15 storyline.
That's like Bree/Daniel acknowledging Greystoke!
oh, but it also shows that itscassie isn't even on their radar. |

It was in really bad taste, even though they disguised the image (though I think the "disguise" was due more to the fact that the entire video was pretty much a negative and not that they took special actions for that). And, really, it wasn't much of a disguise. I and some other people recognized the image even before the negative was reversed.
Don't get me wrong: I thought the CiW videos were of high editing quality and very, very creepy (kudos to the creator for that), but I think there's certain lines we have to make sure we don't cross. It's a shame that things went that way. I think that person would have made more great stuff if they'd become part of the official crew. |

I disagree. Watch closer at the shadows changing on the books and bookshelf as the vid progresses.The light on her face changes consistently with the bookshelves and books.

WTF that was LAME. I mean I love referring back to old stuff, but that was about the most blunt, blatant homage ever! Are you seriously saying Bree had a special "feynman and jared diamond talking spot"? Something about it rubbed me the wrong way, kind of as if all the smart stuff Bree knew about all sorts of random things aren't so random at all, since the things she told us actually came from her father. I don't know, I just realllly disliked that part because seriously Bree needs to be independently smart, not someone who got her two biggest "smart things" from her dad telling her.

Good points. I didn't even recall that the whole video was like a negative...I didn't follow that closely (just lurked mostly)...but yeah, they definately crossed a line with that one...it was pretty offensive in quite a few ways. |

So after reading everything I guess the best thing we all can do is wait and see where this goes. They opened up a lot of doors. This could start some new form of CIW and Frank, or who knows what this phone message from Dad is going to lead to.
To the people who think this might be giving the bird to CIW fans, as a CIW fan I have to say that in fairness the creators did create Cassie. What ever they are going to do with the Cassie charcter now could have been the orgiinal idea from the moment she was mentioned in the swimming video.
Out side of that I thought this was a good video that seemed to reinject some excitement back into the series now lets hope they go somewhere with it. Also lets get Jonas and Bree on screen together. The fight between Bree and Dan before Bree went to see Jonas was some of the best stuff yet in this series. Lets get some ACTING going on instead of all monologs. I know thats alot of what the series is but it does not have to be all the series is!
So here is to hoping this is a new chapter and not a little something before we get another 2 weeks of Bree sitting around. |
