Also, I having a bit of trouble understanding exactly how the mind control works...Bree does seem quite obedient, but I don't really know when or where her mind has been 'accessed'. |

Bree must be mind controlled by some degree....it would explain why she is so dumb sometimes when she actually isn't. |

would you as a teenager let your parents shoot you with mysterious drugs? maybe mind control is a little far fetched, but this obedience goes to the extent of suggesting mental abuse at least. |

That excerpt several posts back about the phones not working once an Illuminati's cover is blown--it seems to tie into the most recent video, "Bree Phone Home". The laundromat is a trade occupation that covers for the resident's real line of work. So there's yet more evidence  .

I agree with the possibility of mental abuse. I have studied psychology and the human brain in great depth, and I still can't see what kind of mind control would have this kind of an effect. Mental abuse seems much more likely, from a scientific standpoint. |

Bree is more than just "a teenager". She's a Chosen One - we don't know why, or the significance of it. She claims not to know either. Many have speculated that there's something in her geneology that makes her important.

In all fairness, the question is "Why would whoever's behind this want to control a teenager?" No matter who the organization is, the answer is obviously that she's special in some way. They've put too much effort into her for her to just be an ordinary person. At least to them she couldn't be an ordinary person. |

We use the term “Illuminati” loosely. It’s intended to point out the similarities in other fictional accounts of secret societies. Go to any conspiracy website and just about every group, secret society or order you can name it associated with the Illuminati. Every modern fictional account of a secret society has “Illuminati-like” influences.
Hope that sheds a little light on the subject.

Another reason...she is part of them. In order to maintain the whole "order" society they must have some control over everyone.
I think it is kina like what the government does to us. For example...Sports became an important part of western life because it was one way for them to distract us from what was really going on the the world. (Not to mention they're fun) |

Maybe the idea that they were trying to transform Bree into some sort of "higher self" would fit to why they want her so bad. Maybe she is the chosen one, because she has been chosen to perform the ceremony that will bring her to a higher level of power or understanding, making her a high member of the community.
But remember, Gemma said that she knew of a girl once that was chosen for the ceremony before 'at a young age'.
It seems like certain people are chosen, but it isn't just ONE person chosen ever.
Perhaps this ceremony could have been a re-enactment showing how someone very important in their belief was transformed into a higher persona?

| I think the important idea of picking a young person is that they are more impressionable at a young age. Therefore it is easier to get someone who has grown up obedient to do your biding than someone who has learned that they can be independent and make their own decisions. |
