I used to be pretty miserable until I took the attitude of not worrying about things I can't change. It drives my wife nuts when she's upset and I'm like "Oh well..." But I still have my bad days, too

Well, I can't say I haven't had my moments of self-inflicted Bree-laced ignorance, either. yeah it does tend to piss people off when you don't take things so seriously... especially when you're known for being "moral" and "responsible"...*sighs* |

I just be myself...If people don't like it they can leave. I can be blunt but the people I AM friends with like me because of it. |

I used to feel that way as well. I let the stresses of everyday life wear me down...not enough money, crappy job, can't spend enough time with the kids, much less feed them. And then I woke up one morning and realized that I could continue to bitch about my crappy life, or embrace it and own it. So, yeah, I'm still dirt poor, can barely feed my kids, but I love my job and I make sure that spending time with them comes first. And I remember how fun I was at 12, how much wonder there was in the world and I try to live my life that way. I try not to be bitter and jaded (I fail at that quite a bit ), but at least I try.
Oh, and a couple years of therapy and medication helped too |

Oh, don't get me wrong... I still worry about things... But I rarely let them get me to the point that I can't joke about them

I dunno if I can really call myself jaded, but as most of you already know (also referring to the readers, not just people replying) I'm pretty opinionated and tend to be pretty vocal. I may not be as blunt about it as Beckers, but it isn't really all that different. I just like to use tact in situations.
I don't know if I'll ever be in the same situation as Ziola who has kids, but when that time comes, I hope to be able to embrace that, too.
I wish I had your resilience, 'mute. I tend to take things on the more serious side since that's how people seem to take me when I start to jabber on.. Well, mostly. It's kinda refreshing knowing that some people can relate. |

Kage, you seem like you need a hug today. So I'm sending you a big hug and kiss and homemade cookies with lots of love. I know its not as good as the real thing, but I hope you can feel the sentiment. |

Yeah, we're taking over this thread for the time being, Mr. Graves...
Thanks for the sentiment, Ziola. |

Vote 'mute in '08! - because Paris Hilton and P. Diddy will both talk about it for months without acctually doing it themselves.
