If Bree's mom holds more of an important role than what is being shown so far...maybe it is safe to say that the reason why she hated those mystery movie nights so much--was because her husband and daughter were learning how to communicate together without her knowing? She was being put out of the loop...and since she notably held a big role in the community, she disliked this feeling of losing her control. _________________ What ever happened to that girl BA?

that's a good theory...i found it especially odd that bree's mother would have been the one to be so strict about the movies, especially when in the old vids Bree seemed to suggest that her mother was the more relaxed one of the two (esp when Bree suggested that her mom would take her side if she were caught sneaking out to meet Daniel). |

I agree with breewithcrackers, that is a good theory ~ really interesting and plausible... Especially since Gemma talked how her Mom always looked up to Bree's mother. Your theory defines Bree's mother as a dimensional character and that adds to the story (Creators, please take note ).
Bree said that her mother usually sided with her on discipline issues ~ maybe that was her Mom's way of trying to get Bree's loyalty and slightly dilute the tight bond Bree has with her Dad... I hope the next video will tell some more about what's up with that. |

yea, definitely...and it seems that, while the two parents were rather strict, there was a slight disconnect between the two parents' rules for Bree. (but maybe I'm just splitting hairs) |

I don't think you're splitting hairs, but I do think it's hard to tell if that was part of the early Bree coming across like a teen with parent difficulties, or if it actually foreshadowed a deeper source for the disconnect.
But, if the Creators are letting the story evolve organically with user input as "fertilizer" (i.e. manure ), then really there is no right or wrong answer to this... we'll have to wait and see whether that early mention of the "sympathetic" Mom and strict Dad (who she is actually closer to) turns out to be a major plot element. |

I think she didn't like that they could create secret codes together. Kind of like in the Da Vinci Code...the girl was trained with these secret songs and secret languages--and she didn't even know it. Perhaps her mother was upset because she feared something like this would happen. And although Bree loves her mother, she will--and has--ironically used her mothers favorite theme of "free will" against her. _________________ What ever happened to that girl BA?

Cool ~ That could be it... like her father was giving her the keys to the door "out", to freedom and safety. OR maybe her father was grooming her for a role in the Order... and, before that went awfully sour, her Mom was trying to keep him from indoctrinating her so thoroughly.
I really want to find out more about Bree's Mom! |

me too...i mean, why was it that bree's dad would go to meet up with her and not her mom too? what does Bree's dad know that her mom doesn't? what freedom to go find bree did bree's dad have that her mom didn't? what mother wouldn't put everything on the line just to see her daughter, if only for a day, after being separated for so long? i think it's interesting to analyze why bree's mom wasn't there too... |
