it's supposed to be sort of a parody of 1960's "sex comedies"--it's about a "modern girl feminist" (renee zellweger...sp?) who writes a hit book called...Down with love! and it declares that women don't need men, don't need love from the opposite sex, etc...(maureen dowd, anyone?)

then there's Ewan McGregor's character, a notorious womanizer, who sets out to make her fall in love with him on a bet with a friend (as he says he can makes anyone fall for him...)

it's cute and funny and kind of random, but i really liked it. Smile

See, now I originally fell in love with Ewan when he was in Trainspotting. Its a great flick and his character is fantastic!

So I went to france when I was in 10th grade, and the first night we were in Paris in basically the red light district in this tiny little hotel with tiny little rooms. To give you an idea, I was 5'7" and my feet hung off the bed, and there were two beds to a room with about a 1/2 foot between them and less between them and the wall. It is VERY important you understand how small the room was. For example, if you were in the bathroom, on the toilet, you were in the shower...TINY ROOM!

Anywho...

At the same time we were there, there was a group of Canadian students roughly the same age as us. As I remember, most of them were girls and most of them were blondes...Oh, and in my room it was me and my friend Cheuk-Hung. The rooms had one old-school key per room. At about 10 o'clock, Cheuk decided he was gonna go hang with our other friend Alex, but I was tired so I decided to stay in the room. I watched LOTR:FOTR in French until about midnight when I feel asleep.

During that time, Cheuk, who had taken our one key with him so he could get back in, lost the key. It was picked up by a group of 3 of those canadian girls who decided to pay the room a visit..

Now here is where it gets hazy, but I remember what I remember VERY clearly:

I don't remember them waking me up, but I am sure they were drunk. Oh, and also, I take about 5-10 minutes after waking up to fully comprehend what is going on around me...until then, I take things literally, ie, if you said you were going to kill me I would ask why...

Here is what I remember from the converstation:

Them: "Can we lie in your bed with you" giggles.

Me: "Umm...well...the beds are kind of small, but you can lie in my friend's bed."

I don't remember what was said after that, but they left. And as I was trying to fall back asleep, I was thinking about what they said. Then it hit me...they wanted to have sex, and I said "You can lie in my friend's bed." I had a chance with three, beautiful, drunk blondes, and I told them they could lie in my friend's bed....

that is my story.
