I'd like to say that in youtube land, when Tannhaus thought I was giving his videos bad ratings, he told me that he'd seen my myspace page and called me a fat whale. fyi

For most of my life, I had the opposite problem.
At any rate, I've seen both sides of the coin... Again, for a guy, it's different. But people can be hurtful to you regardless, so it's all about the support. I feel honored that Kelly feels that she can get some of the support she needs from us

Nicely put, tannhaus & 'mute. Being underweight's NOT fun, i.e. when I'm at home w/my immediate family, it's not discussed. Extended family? Well, being asked EVERY time I see one of them, "OMG! What do you weigh now??" I SO want a tee-shirt that reads, 'DON'T ASK DON'T TELL.' Or maybe, 'I'm not really a crack whore I just resemble one.'

Exactly. The elder family members are more apt to actually say something harsh, the younger ones just stare & whisper amongst themselves.

| kelly i can completely identify with your issue. i'm going through a similar one myself. its so hard to fix because when you feel that down how do you get the energy and most importantly enough self esteem to believe, really believe you can do something about it? your not alone at all. seems to me by the weight issues going on in america were most of us on here seem to live that there are more people with "weight" issues than not. and even the most beautiful people i have ever known have had lower self esteems than myself. you have a family that loves you and a forum that loves you and you are worth what ever you desire. and the people who have negitive comments for you should just be proof that so many people have trouble in there hearts or soul or whatever. if they didn't they wouldn't feel the need to bring someone else down, hiding in humor or not, just to make themselves feel powerful. good luck. |
