Dang it, I wanted the bumping of the thread to be a surprise for Kagey! Oh well. If you're reading this, I hope you're having a great time in Chicago and it's not too cold for you! In Connecticut it's supposed to get up into the 60s. In January! And who says that global warming doesn't exist?   |

... but since I'm here... BUMP!
The weather is very odd here... It's January... but I went out last night and didn't have to wear a thick coat... I was actually fine with just a sweater or a thin jacket. |

Yeah, it's insane, not that I'm complaining.
Usually there'd be a few feet of snow on the ground and near double-digit below zero temperatures, here. It's really rather odd that it's been above freezing. There has been a lot of rain. If it were colder it would have been snow.
Had lots of yummy sushi, last night! Went to the first Japanese restaurant that I worked at. Unfortunately, the whole staff was different. I was really hoping my first sensei was still working there. 
I had a bit of warm sake, too. Not much though. I bought a couple bottles for the two of us, though... |

It was freaking 69 degrees in New York yesterday!!!  It's insanity I tell ya.
Yeah, I read the menu on the other thread! Sounds like you had quite the feast! I'm glad you had a good time, but I'm sorry the first sensei (sounds like a martial arts movie ) wasn't there. Atleast you got to do the nostalgic memory thing.
Oi, I've only done sake once, and it was the only time I've ever blacked out. Apparently I was trying on my mother's clothes in front of her, my BF, and my stepdad's sister......I don't remember much more than that.  I wasn't aware that you should sip it--I thought you did shots. One mistake I'll never make again!
I'll share the bottles with you if you promise to make sure I don't get all sloshed and "crazy". |
