| Daniel means "God is my judge" in Hebrew...which makes it hard for me to think of Daniel of a bad guy in this, honestly. But..anything is possible in this story. |

Yeah, Daniel really genuinely looks baffled when Cassie is mentioned. But. Saying that...Bree and Daniel have been friends for 2 years...you don't forget someone in 2 years. |

| daniel doesn't know cassie bc she is forgettable... that's the point... he's not lying, he's not part of her demise... she's the girl that died instead of coming into school with a gun to avenge herself against all the people that completely dismissed her... we all had (have) someone like that in our high school |

| I just watched it again and theyre is a part where he makes a goofy smile when she's asking about cassie..then he still tries to play it off like he knows nothing. He, at the very least, remembers her. |

I'm almost fully convinced in the dual personality theory -- whether or not "kill" is metophorical in the poem or not -- that Daniel doesn't remember her because she lived in Bree's head.
Cassie, on the Loveline message, was homeschooled. Like Bree. Her parents were super religious. Like Bree. She used the internet to make friends, like Bree. People were mean to her, like Bree. |

I agree. And when Bree says that she and Cassie used to walk around the track together... perhaps Bree was talking to herself.
Do you think there is another reason besides her parents why Bree was taken out of public school? |

Two comments here, I guess.
First, is Bree and Cassie the same? I doubt it. Look at the last two lines of the poem (the part I feel we're missing something for sure with). Whether Bree lives or dies, Cassie will continue on. Basically, Bree's future has no concern on Cassie.
"the stakes are high and you must know:
the pulse of the doe-eyed child may cease.
but cassie does not rest in peace."
I think she is even trying to tell us that we're not here to save Bree. We're here to help cassie.
Second:
When I first saw that video, my instincts were that Bree wanted to hook up Daniel with cassie, as if Daniel and cassie had a past. I think differently now, but when I first saw it, when Bree brought up cassie, Daniel knew EXACTLY what Bree was talking about.
Ok, going to contradict myself, but maybe Daniel knows that cassie is a figment of Bree's imagination? |
