Don't be embarrassed 7Harry...my penchant for obscure Latin phrases could make me sound suspicious.

But back on topic, I'm a lot less skeptical about new posters. The forums can be an intimidating place to get started in, and when people finally have something to say, I don't think it's that unusual to start a new topic. Do we have any proof of posters who were actual plants?

So far there has been no evience that suspiciously absent posters are any threat or any kind of plant...but we shouldn't limit the story to not do something like that.

I'd agree with BA that we shouldn't limit the story, but at the same time, creating 'fake' posters is something that could create a lot of dissension in the forum. I'd like to think that the creators (or other fans) would be really cautious about it.

Hello! I've been a lurker for awhile, and only now actually registered to post. I know that looks suspicious, but I promise I'm just a harmless fan!

I do think the theory of planted posters to throw discussions off track is a very good one though.

But, it seems that, every once in a while, random new people show up with very important, very specific information. It's too... convenient. Like here, for example --> http://lonelygirl15.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=35781&highlight=#35781

(I know it's an old thread, but just look at the date the thread was made, then look at the date some of the people who commented had registered... there's a person a few comments above mine, about the middle of the page, who claimed to be an art major, which is just too gosh darn convenient for me)

yeah; it's not that they're new, but that their new AND their comments are a little too convenient; either telling bree to stop (which likely plays into Oppy's hands) or giving us clues/"clues".
