Okay, I'm sure it's totally off. But I found it amusing. |
Just because I don't want people to get confused...
IF it's an XX/Xy puzzle, like a few of us think:
X's would be numbers.
Y's would be letters.
Mary Poppins being 11 letters wouldn't really have any impact.
EDIT: And yes, I know you think you're way off anyway. But I didn't want people thinking both X's and Y's were letters, if it's an XX/Xy problem. _________________ You will read somewhere that all writing has to do with one's genitals. Don't dwell on this. It will make you nervous.

The first book was "The Secret of the Old Clock". |
More amusing then relevant. In this book Nancy was trying to find the theives of Crowley's clock. In which was hidden his Will. hmmm Crowley's will. _________________ ..-. .-. . . / -... . . .-. Glug Glug |

the first three notes just happen to be
do re mi
do re mi
do re mi fa so la ti do!!!
...:wonders if the password is something along the lines of do re mi fa so la ti do: _________________ A watching_watchers-certified POST WHORE! |

Discussing possibilities in the IRC chat...The first book of Nancy Drew was brought up (I Drew) also mentioned in here.
I decided to wiki the first book, called "The secret of the Old Clock"
and the similarities are just remarkable.
Josiah Crowley, WOW. Check this out guys:

(I Drew was mentioned by Toad, thanks bud!) _________________ Do he be caucasian?! |

I don't think we should message Daniel until we know what we're telling him and why. I'm not sure what he can do with the information about Crowley (which may or may not be relevant).
Side note: I'm going to be trawling this thread and pulling the useful facts out to put in the first post, just like we normally do with a puzzle thread. From now on, you can look there to see what we've discovered, if anything. _________________ "A step in the right direction? It only turns out to be so if you're willing to step much further."

i did the freenode thing and i did "/join #operation aphid"..... i dunno what could be wrong.
wait...
no; the computer is ALREADY on....
yeah, i copied the numbers and such exactly. i accidently did /join #opaphid b4, then looked again and typed /join #operationaphid instead.
is the post i'm reading from out of date? i'm reading on how to do the irc chat.

Make sure you're joining #operationaphid, not #operation aphid (I noticed you typed both above). I know that some people had some problems getting in with Java a few months ago, but I thought that was all resolved. Hang on, I'll check to see if the chat has any tech geniuses in it.
Edit: Nieriel, the chat gave me this wise advice: "Stop using Java." _________________ "A step in the right direction? It only turns out to be so if you're willing to step much further."

Could the x's at the top indicate a phone number? Like maybe the volumes of the Nancy Drew books go together to make a number? Just a thought I had but didn't see mentioned (but I'm tired so I could've overlooked it). |

I think we should definitely go back and look at the previous clues from the Nancy Drew drop. In fact, now might be a time to refer to the "All the things we might have missed" thread, since it seems that we need to reexamine certain items to find our "subtle clue" (insert shameless plug for own thread here). _________________ "A step in the right direction?
