i like to listen to crunk music when i work out. not really much of a rap fan, but something about it really makes me get hyped up when i run. crunk rap, really heavy rock, and the greys anatomy season one cd |

I started back to yoga yesterday........gonna do that for a couple of weeks and get all my flexibility back then I'll get back to those wonderful pilates. I'm super scared about my leg so I wanna ease into putting so much strain on it seeing as that how I broke it the second time.
Alysa......sorry about Shane (I would've freaked, and I don't freak easily!) and the audition but I'm glad we get to keep your lurvly voice all to ourselves. *huggles* _________________ LG15 needs more COWBELL!

i know exactly how you feel - i always get so intimidated going to the gym.. i prefer running by myself, or even better, not doing anything at all (of course, this is not what we're aiming for!)
have you ever heard of a place called curves? it's a gym designed specifically for women. you only work out for thirty minutes and you rotate "stations" so you get in all the core workouts needed for toning and weight loss.
if you dont want to try that, try going to a smaller gym. they're a lot more comfortable and not NEARLY as overwhelming. |

I broke my leg...uhmmm....IN the plane. 3 seconds before I was supposed to dive out. I was the last to go out, at the door, 80mph, after my hubby and SNAP! My leg broke. The tibia and the fibula. It was so loud that at over 12,000 feet with the door open and the headphones on, the pilot heard it. It's one thing to break your leg slipping on ice (I have the plate and 6 screws for that one) but to break my leg so badly to have a titanium rod from the knee down to my ankle where they had to drill out the bone marrow is a hard pill to swallow. It's just hard to get past that moment, but I'll suck it up and move on.
As far as the gym....just buy a DVD and stay at home for a bit. That's what I do. No pressure...just you and the DVD. _________________ LG15 needs more COWBELL!

i dont really have much of a choice as to which gym i goto as this membership is free with my apartment lease, and i can't afford much else. what i'm mainly afraid of is just walkin in the doors and having the assholes that work at the front desk looking at me like i'm nuts or something. like wtf is this fat bitch doing in here? ya know? after that i'll be ok becuase i have my ipod all ready to go, i'm just scared of the first few moments after i walk in.
or even them just being rude becuase i'm getting the free membership.. ya know? like treating me like shit because i'm there for free.. _________________ RAWR!

oh god and to top it all of the #1 reason i didn't go today.. i had a dream about me going to the gym last night.. when i got there it was this lil rinky dink ole place with like 15 machines and for some reason when we signed up for the membership the dude brought us back two breakfast burritos.. i'm like wtf? then all of a sudden i looked over to the left and it was a freakin restaurant/gym combo..
then it turned into a zombie dream..
haha
but seriously.. ugh. _________________ RAWR!

Sorry bout your fear alysa. Not sure if this will help, but I had the same fear as well a few years ago when I first joined.
I was intimidated by all the small in-shape girls and the big muscle meat head boys.. I thought they were gonna be like "what a loser" to me. And I dreaded walking in looking for a machine and having everyone look at me who were already on the treadmills etc....
Anyways, I got over it real quick once I started going. The gym is FULL of outta shape people (umm thats what a gym is for, to better your body!) and most of the people in there you dont know or converse with, so who gives a rats ass what they think of you. And the people in the front desk are just doing there job and dont really pay attention to the people coming in half the time (I know, I worked at 24 hour fitness a few years ago)
One thing that helps is trying to go workout during a time of day when not many people are there.. That way you dont have to wait for a machine or feel awkward trying to learn how to use the machine, or feel uncomforatable working out next to a bunch of people.
Okay, this was long SORRY! Just wanted to tell you that I felt the same way, But not to care about those fuckers, you are going for YOU not for THEM! YOu are going to get into shape and to be healthier. Thats something good for you.
After re-reading that last paragraph I found it to sound cheezzzzy .. sorry for bringin out the cheeze, but seriously, f**k em.. Go and have fun.
<3 Love ya.. Let us know how it goes _________________ www.youtube.com/cuddlebunnies

hey alysa,
I had a fear of going to the gym too.. if anything... here's what I used to do
long bangs... where them down when you don't want to see anyone.. (you know the "I-can't-see-you-so-you-can't-see-me" theory)
or if anything... go at unorthodox hours... but make sure shane is with ya so at least you got someone watching your back at those hours... you know... cassie.. and zombies and stuff...
finally.... you'll LOVE the results.. and I'm sure shane won't be able to resist the results either RAWR _________________ Seraph Haku
