I knew it! Most Egyptology programs aren't in Archaeology/Anthropology departments. Almost always their own department or in with Classics or Art History or Ancient Civ or something like that.....
edited to add: Therefore hard to find a PhD program. There are more Europe, I think.

I seriously considered trying to get into Cairo. But that was one pipedream I only considered for about a week hehe.
One day however I will have the PhD hehe.
