What kind of vet would agree to fix "Fido's" hand?
That's insane. Has anyone ever heard of a (real life) similar event? _________________ One day you'll know who I am. On that day, so will everyone else.

Lots of people have pointed out that vets used to treat the farmers and stuff too.
Not only that but human and animals are pretty much the same, if you take your cat in with a big gash, it's going to get fixed the same way as if you cut your hand open. Plus vets do have some medical training (in humans generally). Someone posted a really good article in the video thread you should check out.
Not only that, but money can get you pretty much anything. It was an emergency, and the vet would have the training/knowledge to fix it. I haven't personally heard of it happening, but I bet it does. |

I tend to agree with those who have said that a vet would probably be suspicious of three young adults seeking medical attention from an animal doctor. It's just too farfetched. Certainly vets used to treat farmers, but today most farmers get their medical services from trained human doctors.
Money can buy many things, sure. However, a vet is not obligated to treat a human with a non-life-threatening hand gash. In reality, (not Breeality) a vet would send them to a hospital, call paramedics (or even the authorities) for such an unreasonable request. _________________ I hope you realize that I suck.::The finest satire is that in which ridicule is combined with so little malice and so much conviction that it even rouses laughter in those who are hit.-Georg Christoph Lichtenberg |

It really depends on your opinion of Jonas:
Some consider him to be quite a stud, so then he would need an equine vet.
Others consider him something of a dog, so naturally he would then require a pet hospital.
Seriously, though, money talks. It remains to be seen whether this particular vet called the law. _________________ Official Jester of the LG15 Defense Force! |

Also...maybe the hospital was further than the vet's. They could have used taht as an excuse becuase they couldn't stop the bleeding but they all knew it wasn't a fatal wound. A vet would have the knowledge of what to do. |

It depends on their location. I used to live in a very small town and if the injury wasn't needing medical attention that required a lot of equipment people went to the vet a lot. Plus, unknown by many, vets have knowledge of ALL animal systems including humans. For the kind of wound Jonas had, if the town is small or doesn't have a hospital, it could very well be typical. There is also the possibility of going to a vet if the hospital is overbooked.
It really isn't that unusual, just not something you hear about much. |

Any doctor, by law (at least here in canada) must aid in treating an emergency situation. If they can resolve the situation they must do so.
Since a vet is considered a doctor, he must. And most vets will do so very willingly. _________________ kelly

Still strikes me as weird...all I can think of is that movie Turner and Hooch where the crazy vet operates on a human and doesn't seem to notice |
