Just wanted to say some quick things before I read everything.
The board says Cassandra and Alexandra. I'm too tired and hungry to figure out what that means but OMFG CASSIE!
Daniel was totally pissed at Jonas.
I love the boys. I want them to be happily friends.
Shit, I have to eat dinner. Afterwards I'll read the thread. _________________ "Beneath this mask there is more than flesh. Beneath this mask there is an idea, Mr. Creedy, and ideas are bulletproof."

The Cassandra/Alexandra mention leads me to this, from Wikipedia,
"In Greek mythology, Cassandra (Greek: Κασσάνδρα "she who entangles men") (also known as Alexandra) was a daughter of King Priam and Queen Hecuba of Troy whose beauty caused Apollo to grant her the gift of prophecy. However, when she did not return his love, Apollo placed a curse on her so that no one would ever believe her predictions."
The full citation is here:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cassandra
Are some members of the flock able to predict the future? The worst part of Cassandra's/Alexandra's gift was that no one ever believed her visions, and it led them to make the mistakes that brought them to their doom. _________________ BACK IN BLACK |

Wow, I am amazed with the info that this thread has generated in the what, eight-ish hours since the vid came out?
I tend to lean towards "Cassandra and Alexandra" being Cassie and Auntie Turncoat. Why? I think it would be a little odd to introduce new characters with names similar to previous ones (seen or unseen).
On a lighter note -- I think our TAAG is faced with a new dilemma, far more dramatic and challenging than before. Three people.... one mattress! If DB doesn't hog the bed, I wonder if the "Great Wall of Jonas" will make another appearance in the future? *taps chin thoughtfully* LMAO. |

Thanks, GJTK, I think you came up with some great points. gjtko2007 wrote: | The numbers (9, 12 and 18 ) I think either refer to:

It was the first thing I thought of! Then I started thinking, how old were Cassie(Casandra) and Alex(Alexandra) in 2000 when we are supposing this was written? Quote: | Coming off of the Elders are apparent subdivisions of the Order/Hymn of One: Deacons, Helpers, Watchers and something called "OTS". The former three have dotted lines connecting them to Elders while "OTS" has a solid line (possibly indicating certainty of connection, as opposed to less sure for the other three) | or perhaps OTS is the only faction that really knows what's going on. the others have only part of the picture. Quote: | (for what purpose though we have no idea). | sure we do. They're guarding them from the resistance, from the zelots... Quote: | Above Ceremony and below Crowley is some circled stuff: Girls? (probably indicating that only girls are right for some reason), Blood underlined many times (it has already been guessed that the Ceremony involves blood in some way, but this is something of proof of that) and then Something in it? (what would be desired in the blood... red blood cells? Does anyone else besides me think of vampires when you read this?!? | Vampire isn't reasonable, but I'm thinking you really didn't mean it. A thread really took the blood angle apart. I'll try to find it and post. Quote: | (Cassandra, Alexandra, etc.) which some have said were meant Cassie and Alex were alternate candidates. The theory is weird, but not impossible. | see above, and take note of Mindinflight's post Quote: | I tend to lean towards "Cassandra and Alexandra" being Cassie and Auntie Turncoat. Why? I think it would be a little odd to introduce new characters with names similar to previous ones (seen or unseen). | At the time this was written, Alex was approximately Bree's age. Maybe a tad older. I think either she washed out of the ceremony or she was fought over similarly to Bree. It is entirely probably that she married to get past the purity thing. I don't think we've seen the last of Aunt Alex! Anyway, the 9,12,18 as ages could mean we're going to get a new girl quite a bit younger than Bree. Quote: | Here, OTS represents part of an extremist or deviant branch of the Order which is far less willing to follow the doctrine of "free will" than the main part of the Order. When Bree ran off, the moderate branch sent the Watchers to make sure she didn't fall into extremist hands (like what happened in Vegas) while trying to recover her themselves via OpAphid. After BDJ escaped from the extremist's compound, a Watcher intervened to protect BDJ from extremist recapture. | You are interpreting the board in current day. We're leaning toward the board being 6 or 7 years old. It wouldn't have had to do with BDJ back then Quote: | Alex may also have been caught between the free-will moderates and the compulsion extremists. She tried to escape their conflicting demands on her but surrendered to avoid further trouble and release Bree from her obligation. Whether that is true or not is still up in the air, but it makes sense for it to have worked that way. | Alex is conflicted, that is EXTREMELY evident. I think there is more at work than that though. (I'll post on it later)
I really appreciate your post. It has really lent meat to the discussion.

But Bree was 16-going-on-17 when she was chosen for the ceremony -- not 12 or 18.
mincartaugh wrote: | At the time this was written, Alex was approximately Bree's age. Maybe a tad older. |
Not the way people have figured out her age in the past. IIRC, based on how old she supposedly was when Jonas's parents disappeared, people figure that she's somewhere in her late 20s-early 30s. Which would mean that seven or eight years ago, she was early-mid 20s.
mincartaugh wrote: | Anyway, the 9,12,18 as ages could mean we're going to get a new girl quite a bit younger than Bree. |
Like, maybe, Taylor? People have theorized that she's about 13.

Agreed. Great job, GJTK. |

*edit* other girl as in the one whose family disappeared from the commune |
You mean The Artist Formerly Known As Tachyon? |
Actually, Tachyon was that girl's younger sister. She was not a candidate for the ceremony.
Anyway, I read the whole thing now. I'm think the Cassie/Alex thing is mythological too, rather than related to Aunt Alex. But I think Alex's name is done on purpose. None of us trust her. Maybe she has or will tell us something imperative to BDJ's knowledge, but no one will believe her.
Also, I'm wondering too about the time lapse. We know a lot of resistance members have been killed, but that doesn't mean the entire resistance has been swept off the planet. It's possible the information is somewhat recent. However, I kind of doubt it because the place is so dirty and dusty.
I'm worried for their safety though. When are they going to discover the advantage of private video-making? GOODNESS. They could probably push it so they make private videos that are for US to see. But seriously, they just posted a video like "Hi everyone.. we're staying at the same place the resistance stayed at because it is a safehouse so it must be safe, I mean look how all the resistance members turned out! Rock on!"
If I were an Order Girl I couldn't do this. I would have an allergy attack and die.
The "something in it?" under "girls' blood" is intriguing. Maybe that has something to do with the iron pills Bree took and the injections of epogen? Could they have enhanced whatever feature exists in her bloodstream?
Maybe Cassie is Alex's sister.
JK.
EDIT: I forgot to say one other thing. Maybe OTS is the Creators' replacement of OpAphid. Since they can't use that name. OTS could be the equivalent of the faction once known as OpAphid. _________________ "Beneath this mask there is more than flesh. Alright, I have to go to class. Bye! Have fun scrambling around the internet and such things in order to explain the stuff on the whiteboard! |
Does anybody else think that this chick may be the reincarnation of our old pal glowe? Or at least somebody with a similar "sense of humor"?
Okay, okay, sorry . . . I'll behave now. :smt012 |
Look, I realized you were being extremely rude. I don't know why....Why should you care if I think this series is complete crap now? It was totally unnecessary but I decided to be mature about it and respond with a few laughs. I initially wanted to call you a bitch but then I thought, "No, I will deflect her comment by making it into a joke." So, I believe you are the one who is a bit lost. I don't know who glowe is but, then again, I don't know who you are! And you don't know me! You have no clue about my "sense of humor" nor my intentions behind various posts I make. Show some respect. I wouldn't mind if you posted some random comment about how you might abandon this series. So, please stop your callous remarks. _________________

"Alexandra" isn't just similar to Alex's name; it's her actual name (remember when Daniel called her that in "On The Hot Seat"?). |

I just thought I'd resurrect Joseph Beuys to help explain the white board for us,
and Riichard Feynman might give us some insight as well,

Huh? How?
I didn't read the rest of this thread if that would answer my question. It helps if people explain themselves a little. Pictures are worth a thousand words, but they AREN'T words so come on... |
