| and it wasn't edited by the killer because during both day segments the conversation matches the scenery ("10 miles left") so if the dialogue was ripped from the video they took it must have been a one day trip. if that were the case why would there be nighttime footage? it has to have been edited by Maddy and Adam or someone who can fake their voices perfectly. only two options that make sense |

Am I just being really dense right now? That's entirely possible; it wouldn't be the first time. It's just that I still don't understand why the killer couldn't have edited it; couldn't the night footage have come from anywhere and simply been edited in amongst the actual Maddy/Adam video for some reason?

it could have but not only does it seem to match up but "for some reason" doesn't really work. seems like a lot of trouble to go to on a whim |

I just realized something! The audio DOES NOT match up during the first day sequence! They're reading signs in the audio, but there are no signs to be seen. Maddison says "next exit", but they aren't on a limited access road; it's a backroad. The entire thing is edited over. I'm not yet sure what this implies, other than that they seem to be on I-10 during the audio, the only road with exits that runs past Kerrville.

except when they get out of the car and Maddison places the camera on top of it (I assume it's on top of the car...right height, Adam goes to the right where a trunk would be and appears with a bag)
but that part keeps bothering me. If this isn't a set-up, why aim the camera like that? If you're intending on going inside, why would you carefully set up the camera on the roof of your car?
it's like they were expecting something to happen.
hence, it *was* staged! at least I'd like to think so.
ETA and why would Maddison run back around the car to get shot? I mean, if someone was shooting at me I would run far far away as fast as possible, not back around in a circle like a Benny Hill clip
