Or along the same line of thought... perhaps one of the six-stringed messages is a red herring and we should ignore it... or perhaps, more likely we have the wrong interpretation for one of them and we need to "mute" it as to not allow it to throw us off...
hmmm

Or "muting himself" could be killing himself.
But I still don't think that would be all he'd be telling us. There must be a lot more to the message. |

Random thoughts for the day:
"Mute" doesn't always make something silent; take a trumpet mute for example - it just changes the sound that you hear. If we're thinking in terms of six strings of text, maybe "mute them" means to change what we hear, i.e. rearrange the text.
If you take the messages and split them into separate parts, could these be the six strings?

So we shouldn't listen to him when he says to not listen to him? _________________ "But I don't want to go among mad people," Alice remarked.

The first two sound extremely recognizeable, but I can't figure out where it comes from. I'm trying to, though. :/ No idea on the last one. _________________

I like the idea of it being strings of text that we're supposed to "mute". I think that has real potential.
Googling "mute" and "text", I came up with this for a possibility:
http://mute-net.sourceforge.net/
It's a file-sharing program. Perhaps what we need can be found on there by searching for the right strings of text? |

Not a bad idea.... I'll look into it. Honestly, though... its new to me.. someone with more networking experience may be better able to to check this out than just me alone. Also... anyone else notice the weird quote at the bottom of the page? almost seems like an ARG puzzle itself :-p

that is a wonderful find! So much to go through. Wow , if this is the key , how awesome.
The creator is pretty interesting, (http://hcsoftware.sourceforge.net/jason-rohrer) but I cannot find a connection to Jeromy or the game other than he is in NY. (not that there has to be)
did you check out his (the creator of that site's ) hypertext fiction? very cool and made me really miss Gogo and HSA, right up her alley!!!
I love that stuff.
and the swarm intelligence makes me think of Bree.
I will keep looking, good find!!! _________________ "Children analyze fantasy. They know you're kidding them. There's got to be logic in the way you kid them. Their fun is pretending...making believe they believe it." Dr Seuss |
