Two things....

1. - Anyone seen the Wickerman? (Old school here, no Nick Cage pansypants Razz) What if Daniel has been roped in all along? *nods sagely* I think he's about to be roasted in a giant wicker stick-man.

2. Chartreuse described as an "Elixir of Life", eh? Mwahahahaaa. Google Elixir of Life and Aleister Crowley. Enjoy.

Sad my very first post was something to that effect except that i didn't mention wicker man cuz i hadn't seen it and i got laughed at Sad but especially now i think it's a valid thought.

EDIT: but my general theory revolved around things happening at the ceremony that def. didn't. so laugh away...

I love the old Wickerman, but I haven't seen it in a long time, and that is most deffinately old school. I hope they don't burn Daniel though...eeep!!! Shocked

i googled Elixir of Life and Aleister Crowley and it says that he was a big fan of Amrita, considered the drink of the god which grants immortality. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Amrita
it's made from the pineal gland. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pineal_gland

"The pineal gland was the last endocrine gland to have its function discovered. Its location deep in the brain seemed to indicate its importance. This combination led to its being a "mystery" gland with myth, superstition and even metaphysical theories surrounding its perceived function.

Rene Descartes called the pineal gland the "seat of the soul" [2], believing it is unique in the anatomy of the human brain in being a structure not duplicated on the right and left sides. This observation is not true, however; under a microscope one finds the pineal gland is divided into two fine hemispheres.

The pineal gland is occasionally associated with the sixth chakra (also called Ajna or the third eye chakra in yoga). It is believed by some to be a dormant organ that can be awakened to enable "telepathic" communication."

hmmmm

yup, just because somebody hasn't been contributing doesn't mean they don't know just as much as you do about everything that's going on. they just wanted to choose the perfect moment to make their debut!

oh, and some of them are the creators dropping clues. Wink

Hi, I'm a long time lurker here, and finally might have something to add.

I lived in Northern AB for a few years, and have heard rumors. La Crete elders ask that people not drink there, but they don't actually stop anyone from doing it.

It's a very strict devout religion, hard working for the most part, but also.. (not to be rude) reputed to be really inbred. They can't marry outside the religion, they only have a small number of people in the religion.. so they must marry within the family. Don't know how true that is, but thats the only thing of interest that I've ever heard about La Crete. Small communities like this religion, hudderites and russian orthodox are very close knit, and it's hard to know whats on the inside. I don't see how La Crete would even be related.

Also, If lucy's computer says that it's the 12th, that could imply that the real ceremony is.. duh duh duhhhhh.. wait for it... today, then the last posting was meant to mislead. BUT, the folder that Daniels pics are in are labelled the 12th too aren't they?

I don't know, I don't investigate most of this stuff, just read everyone else's theory's, so I may be way off base.

Actually it's about 1400 people that have posted at least once out of 2000..that registered..though there are a couple of hundred that have only posted once...but then there are those that have never bothered to register.

I understand the link of chartreuse to absinthe, especially with the poster, but chartreuse is an alcohol separate from absinthe.

http://www.nycgoth.com/more/chartreuse/

Not sure if this will be any help, but the article says, "Though the precise herbs in chartreuse are not publically known, there is a small quantity of thujone, the active chemical in wormwood (and consequently, absinthe.)"

(After further research)

Thujone has been injected into mice, so I see no reason why it couldn't be what has been injected into Bree.

http://www.ncl.ac.uk/medplant/about_mprc/My%20Webs/Sage/S.libanotica/chem_comp_toxicity.htm

any idea what it did to the mice exactly? cuz i'm not reading all that stuff- i'm waay too tired.

Unfortunately my link requires a purchase to read what it did to mice, so I've done some more researching (with a migraine, no less, but I'm just so intrigued). There is a lot of conflicting information out there about the effects of wormwood and thujone. Some attribute wormwood to the psychosis experienced by absinthe drinkers, others blame the use of copper pots and poor ingredients for the madness experienced by those who drank it.

One interesting thing I found links thujone to marijuana. This one, http://sulcus.berkeley.edu/mcb/165_001/papers/manuscripts/_877.html , states, "...the feeling after drinking it was completely different. Not that heavy-head, room-swirling feeling one have after too mach (sic) alcohol, but light, airy feeling, and some kind of altered state of mind, that was hard to explain."

I had bad reactions to marijuana and I know most people don't. What I've heard from others is that it provides a heavy, almost euphoric feeling. However, based on the description from the website above, the sensation from absinthe provides the altered, euphoric mindstate without the heaviness that makes it easy to spot someone who's stoned.

Might explain why she has those maps.

Yea I wasn't implying that at all, but thanks for your opinion. Rolling Eyes

*Back on topic!* Daniel was mentioning the Crowely incident in Arizona not too long ago, and now he finds a a map of a location in Arizona on Lucy's computer. Wonder if it's connected in anyway? (Sorry if it was mentioned earlier)
