not really.
confirmed with my mom; jumping around is childlike, so it very possibly could be regression. the whole thing about regression is going into a safer time of childhood.
edit -- i mean she's not really overacting. if you've ever witnessed someone regressing, you'd know this is pretty typical. |
Yeah, I've not really witnessed anything like that myself, so maybe that's it. But it does seem odd because she seems to go back and forth where it's pretty clear but then a couple others where it's uncomfortable.
Although, it is interesting to a point. Remember part of the audition inquired about halting the aging process? |

not necessarily, but i like the way you're thinking. 
yeah, i see my mom regress, and even though she usually is really peaceful, the basic characteristics of regression are in Bree's behavior. (plus, my mom can still get angry sometimes in her regressed state, and becomes uncharacteristically ticked off, like Bree)
she never forgets us, but it could be because 25+ years of being a mother refuses to let her forget us 
she just regresses because her mind feels like for different reasons, she can't cope with the whatever situation with full use of her mental capacities.
edit -- my mom regresses when there's the possibility of her recovering a memory, so it seems like her mind tries to play defense b4 anything actually happens. seems like Bree is just coping as she goes along.
on the other hand, my mom said she would kinda disassociate during those bad times too, so i'm not sure if this tape could be evidence of regression or disassociation...

Bree's had P. Monkey since she was a kid, right? So, let's guess, ten years ago. Might be more, might be less, but let's guess ten.
SHE DOESN'T RECOGNIZE PURPLE MONKEY!
They Order did some SERIOUS brainwashing to make her forget TEN YEARS of her life.
(Of course, like I said, could be more, could be less, but I remember her saying she was a kid when she acquired a certain purple monkey puppet. Kid to me means 6-10 years old.)

I dont think she overacted it. I think she did rather well. While I've never been brainwashed (except for an unhealthy amount of cola products) I've suffered from ... lapses of mental clairity to an extreme degree. Common behaviour for me in these states include but are not limited to banging my head against a wall, door, floor, various appliances, uncontrolled spastic movement, muscles tensing and unclenching repeatedly, repeating certain words or phrases, hair pulling, punching, scratching, running, bobbing, screaming, quiet talking, hiding et cetera. A friend of mine who has post traumatic stress often screams so loud and with such vigor she'll be unable to talk for a week afterwards. For me it usually ends in collapsing and sobbing, shaking until unconsciousness.
So no, i dont think she overacted.

I only caught the tail end of it but basically she was saying that they locked her in her room and what kind of "friends" did that. And also she was going on about Jonas being evil. It was hard to keep up. Lots of people going in and out and so much flooding that my computer nearly froze. |
