While I doubt that this was a ploy, it's been emphasized more than enough that the Order does watch the videos. Heck, one particular development in the plot required it (Bree telling Lucy to e-mail her about a location to trade herself for Daniel). |
It is the old argument.
I gotta say it again: there are people in The Order and The Hymn of One who see the vids. Those people keep the knowledge to themselves.
They are either jockeying for power withing the Organization, or they are Resistance infiltrators. They use the intelligence for their own purposes.
I think you both see it as all or nothing; it isn't in black or white. This is a grey area.
Not everyone in The Order sees the videos, and those who do don't share the info. |
This is indeed a tired subject Apo. I think the bottom line is that the Orderites can only see the videos when it is convenient for the writers to have them be able to, without any sense of logic to it. I guess I just find this absurd...
I suppose taking this to the extreme challenges the basic premise of the vlog delivery medium itself and this line of inquiry always leads to a dead end. I hope that with KM they get this straight though, it really is one of the worst of the plot problems...

I guess the original point is one we all seem to agree upon, and that is that it would be useless to try such a ploy.
However, it wouldn't be the first time that TAAG attempted something useless or foolish.

Agreed Apo, I am quite curious to see what they have up their sleeve!

So, this was the first video that I was actually disappointed in. First of all, it was COMPLETELY obvious that Bree was just stringing Jonas along. I knew she couldn't have snapped out of it THAT easily. She was DEFINITELY NOT the Old Bree we all knew. I had a feeling she was going to try to escape, and I just couldn't understand how one day they have her locked in a room and she's going nuts, etc., and the next day or so, she's not only out around the house, but Jonas has her outside walking around! Ummmm...he's a little trusting, don't ya think?
Second, and I hate to say this because I'm a Jonas fan, but it's about the coffee scene. It was entirely too fake. I don't know why things like that bother me so much, but when you actually make a deal out of a drink and then pretend to drink it....at least make it believable. He barely touched his mouth with it like it was almost full, then he didn't even swallow before talking again...and then when he did talk, he swung that mug around so much, that if it had been that full, it would have spilled all over the place. Just too fake for me....but I tend to notice the details. Just had to vent it. 
Still...can't wait to see what the next video holds! |

To all the people wanting a new vid...
I feel your pain. However, we have had a vid every day this past week, which is just friggin' awesome. We know there are no vids on weekends. Be patient, we have been spoiled this last week.

Just thought I'd share - this video stirred up in me two sets of desires:
*Need to know what happened to Bree! What a cliffhanger! How is Jonas going to react? How is Daniel going to react? Is she naked?
*Need to have sex! Damn, Jonas looks good in nothing but his underpants. And the euphoria he's displaying is nothing compared to the post-coital euphoria my boyfriend slips into.
Unfortunately, no videos on a weekend, and my boyfriend still has exams to study for so he won't let me sex his brains out! Damn that Jonas!

I'm new here, but here's my thoughts anyway:
I think the video was intentionally fake. So far the Creators have been pretty good at making everything look as real as possible, so I really don't think they'd miss something so stupid as not putting coffee in his cup. BUT, if Jonas the character was putting together a fake video for whatever reason, he may have just grabbed his already empty coffee cup spur of the moment to appear more casual. Also the actor that plays Jonas is a better actor than he is in this video - here he looks like he is acting. Thus, I think that the character Jonas is faking a video for some reason - whether it's just to make fun of Daniel and Sarah's prodding into his and Bree's relationship, or because perhaps Bree convinced him that he needs to help her "escape," I'm not sure on those details. But I'm pretty damn convinced that this video was all intentionally staged by Jonas. |

That is an interesting theory. Does the Order even see these videos? I think I read somewhere that it is assumed the order does not in fact see the videos BDJ post. Someone else can correct me.
