[np], if you didn't know, means "now playing", which means what song/album are you listening to at the moment. I should hope that each month we'll start a new one, as to make archiving and searching easier for all parties, but whatever. Feel free to add your personal review of the song/album you're listening to.
Tomahawk Anonymous
Slated to drop in July, Tomahawk's latest album, "Anonymous", was leaked on teh interwebs roughly two months ago. Basically, the album is a collection of Native American hymns arranged for a rock band, with vocals layered on by Mike Patton of Faith No More and Mr. Bungle fame. I quite enjoy the album not only for its sheer novelty, but for the fact that its rhythms and harmonic progressions actually move me, a difficult task in these days of cookie-cutter corporate pap. Additionally, although Patton didn't need to lend a creative hand to the project, his vocal tracks still were infused with his own particular nuance in a most refreshing way.
