I looked up the meaning of the name Bree a while back...It comes from the name Bridgett. The name Bree on its own means "BROTH" (whatever that means). I looked up Bridgett (since Bree is short for Bridgett, at least all the places I have looked at say so) and found this meaning "resolute, strength, saint" I found one place that said it means "exhalted one".
So take what you want from that... |

It doesn't have to stand for anything. There are a bunch of people with Bree as a first or middle name. _________________ Check out: Funniest LG15-related episode... ever?! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oZ6kBdNegfs |

A lot of people have taken Daniels name quite literally (especially the BEAST part)...So, if the creators have named daniel, DANIEL for a reason...it makes me think that Bree's name might have some significance. |

I know some people are nicknamed Bree if their name is Brianna. But I'm not sure the significance if any at all. It could just be a name, but I'm curious if there is more. Did anyone else do any research? |

here's the meaning from this website:
http://www.behindthename.com/php/search.php?terms=Bree&nmd=n&gender=both&operator=or
BREE
Gender: Feminine
Usage: Irish
Pronounced: BREE
Anglicized form of BRÍGH
BRÍGH
Gender: Feminine
Usage: Irish
Pronounced: BREE
Derived from Irish brígh meaning "power, high".
Also Bree could be a nickname for Breanna or Breana(friends name is this and she goes by Bree)
BREANNA
Gender: Feminine
Usage: English
Pronounced: bree-AN-a
Feminine form of BRIAN
BRIAN
Gender: Masculine
Usage: Irish, English
Pronounced: BRIE-an
The meaning of this name is not known for certain but it is possibly related to the Old Celtic element bre meaning "hill", or by extension "high, noble". Brian Boru was an Irish king who thwarted Viking attempts to conquer Ireland in the 11th century. He was victorious in the Battle of Clontarf, but he himself was slain. |

Could Be Multiple different names, I'll compile a list of names that can and have been shortened to Bree:
Bree
Brianna
Bridget
Gabriella
So far that is all I have, I'll add to it when there are more though. |

Bree could be Sabrina as in the teenage witch or Samantha's daughter. |

I think it's related to the following phrase:
Easy BREEzy beautiful - Cover Girl!
Because BREE is the COVER GIRL for the lonelygirl15 series.
The other theories in this thread are completely dopey and wrong. |
