I complained because I know that in reality you can't be a scientist at the age of 22. It takes a lot of work and many years of research. Many.
I was kinda hoping for an older character scientist type. Not some "genius" who had connections or whatever and is now a "scientist" at Neutrogena. |
Maybe they could have made him Bree's real dad! Are we ever going to see her birth family? |

this is the only thing I could find about Isaac Gilman:
Gilman is in Essex County, in the Berlin metro area.
The community was named for Isaac Gilman, owner of a paper-manufacturing company.
The latitude of Gilman is 44.412N. The longitude is -71.722W.
It is in the Eastern Standard time zone. Elevation is 860 feet.

PEOPLE:

Gilman is on the Connecticut River.

If he's actually 22 then it's unlikely he's her real father. Bree's what, 16? He would've been 6 when he sired her if that were the case. It would be nice if they'd made him older and therefore could've been her real dad (my apologies if that is what you meant and I misinterpreted). |

I go to school not far from Gilman...there is NOTHING there, trust me. There is a shirt that reads "What happens in Vermont, Stays in Vermont...but nothing really happens here, so your safe" That basically says it all. I highly doubt there is a connection between Gilman VT and anything involving LG15, The Order, ect. _________________ ..we can all be silver stars.. |

POSSIBLE SPOILER ALERT
...
this is from the variety.com article lg15today linked to last night:
"Show's new character, who will make his first appearance Monday and appear in episodes over the next two months, had already been conceived by the show's creators, Miles Beckett and Greg Goodfried, as a 22-year-old scientist who helps the series' lead characters create a serum in order to thwart an evil org known as the Order." |
Thank you for that Milowent. I'm having a hard time seeing "22 year old" and "scientist" in the same sentence. In my area, nobody will hire you as a "Scientist" unless you have a Ph.D. or MANY years of experience. Maybe things are different in the magical land of California. I know not everything in the show is realistic, but this really hit a sour note with me.
Sorry to be off topic. Are we sure that YouTube channel is real though? A fan could have seen the article and made it. |
Maybe they're taking the Doogie Houser approach? |

Arrrrgggg
But seriously, yes maybe they are taking that approach with this new character. I just need to take my personal opinion and experience with science out and hope that this character is cool. I usually like scientific types. |

I also like the idea of having another guy on the show. It evens it out. 3 and 3. |

Someone (edit: Opladybug and Dream) in the comment section found this:
http://teddfuller.blogspot.com/2006_12_01_archive.html
As many of you know, my Sunday morning doubles partner, Isaac Gilman, was recently honored by the board of the Wyman Foundation for his advances in genetic something-something. BIG WINK! I know Isaac is a brilliant scientist but, to be honest, his achievements at the net are the key to him being at the top of my buddy list! Last Saturday morning, Isaac and I took on Bev Hills' terrible twosome - Jim Goody & Peter Flood. To say that we won would not and could not embrace the defeat that we delivered. Best of three sets? 6-2 6-1 (third set just not needed) Nuf said. I toast to you, Isaac! You are a good man and, more importantly, a great tennis partner.
but wait, there is also a pic

The Old Congregational Church is said to be the most photographed church in the US.(though Townshend makes the same claim). The village of Gilman records an American success story that is somewhat unusual in Vermont. Isaac Gilman was born to poverty in a Russian village, came to New York City in the 1880’s, and later founded the Gilman Paper Company. At some point he acquired an interest in a company in what was Lunenburg’s village of Fitzdale. By 1907 that company was in financial difficulties, whereupon Gilman took it over and converted it to the manufacturing of what was then a new product: Kraft paper. Making a success of the new venture, Gilman settled down in the village and, according to the local story, became a favorite son. It is said that he in turn became so fond of the people that he built two churches, one for Roman Catholics and one for the Protestants, but no synagogue, since he was the only Jew in town. In 1921 the village changed its name to Gilman in his honor. |

everyone is saying "ohh emm gee! there's a 22 year old research scientist?!?!"
but really, how do we know who this guy is?
all sarah said is that his name was in the box. he could have been working WITH mr. bree to help develope something.. (no one ever said he was doing it all by himself..)
he doesnt have to be a super genius.. maybe just someone with the ability to explain the charts and diagrams and stuff in the box. |

wow. "As many of you know, my Sunday morning doubles partner, Isaac Gilman, was recently honored by the board of the Wyman Foundation for his advances in genetic something-something. BIG WINK!"
while this pretends to have been posted in december 2006, posting dates can be modified on blogger, and there are no google links to this blog. this means it was created very recently. i couldn't say whether its fanfic or canon, but its well-done.
another post mentions: "La Jolla Health and Tennis Club"
jonas said - can someone help me find isaac gilman in the video, right? .... _________________ “Can't repeat the past? Why of course you can!”
