OK, this whole thing about the nut man squirrel is killing me for some reason. Is this actually a real game? I tried googling it, and couldn't find any referrences to it, though "rock paper scissors" came up with over 3 million hits.
Something else that really bugs me about this is the fact that it's based on man having peanut allergies. Though, yes, people have had allergies to nuts for years, the widespread problem has really only become a huge issue in the last decade or so. Is that really long enough to have had a game made up about it?
Gemma made this sound like it was the Australian version of rock paper scissors, but could it have just been something the kids made up in the commune?
Could it, as someone stated before, be some kind of nudge to Nuit? Referring to the cult members as nuts?
Perhaps it's some sort of secret code thing that is meant just for Bree that we will understand later?
I guess I shouldn't be so worked up about squirrel nuts. |

Darn it! I hate when I find something in the appropriate place that I just posted a stupid thread for.
Please delete this. |

Quick, in before deletion.
Where does this "nut man squirrel" thing come from? _________________ I've got a Morse Code anagram for you to decode, Cassie:

It comes from the gemma19 video, which may or may not be an official lg15 video. Still in debate.
If you follow me (LOL) to the Fan Video area, there is a discussion going on there about it all. |

I said this in the video's thread as well, but I don't believe the game is real. there are many versions of rock/paper/scissors, but they mostly seems to use small, quick hand motions. The giant sun overhead (nut) and the universal choking motion while reaching out in front of yourself (man) just don't really fit. Just my $.02. |

But wait...on second thought...if it were just made up by little kids, anything goes. They might not see the motions as anti-strategic....
I do think they either made it up for the video, however, or that it's a real memory of someone's in the cast - maybe one of them made up the game when they were little, or something similar. |

goodgollyitsholly said in both the "Where's Daniel" thread and the nut kills man thread that she knows an austrailian person who knows the game. i don't care enough to search for it but i def. read that several times. |

Now that we know Gemma is canon, this "death" game seems a lot more significant. Whether or not it's a real game, the point is that the creators have included references to it.
Is it some kind of (extremely) veiled message to Bree? Like, "if you pick the wrong choice/take the wrong action, you could die"?
The part in Gemma's other vid, "Living in London," about "the community" ringing the bell if something bad had happened also seems ominous. Gemma talks about how sirens remind her of the bell, and how sirens go off if someone has gotten badly hurt, or worse.
What could be "worse"? Someone dying, obviously. Maybe someone escaping? |
