maybe "contact destination" is all we are supposed to find? |
I don't think so. Remeber the last answer repeated.

I think you have found the first part of the key.
So the key would start out like: tofight
Now we need the rest of the key... hmmmm |

Well there is a second word that appears further down the text.
"destination"
i doubt thats a coincidence. I'm almost positive there has to be another shift. |

Sorry, I am such a noob. What do you mean by another shift?
You don't think we are missing another word in the key?
Thanks for edumacating me. |

Well first the spacing and the semicolon from the cipher text and key i used match up exactly.
Second in the decoded text both the words "contact" and "destination" appear, not likely we would get that second word if i used only a part of the key.
And by second shift i mean that possibly the rest of the garbled letters
need to be decoded with a second key(or possibly the whole thing?) |

co ntact ser aetabli
lo rsq uevo usserez ad
est ination prenezbons;
oindell ejesperequ
evosyeux ne vouscaus
ent pasdetq ruxubhaeyk
hhqkufh xdkwwjyf
Some of this decoded message looks like it is in French to me...
"ne vouscaus ent pasde" = "ne vous causent pas de"
translates to "do not cause you"
"vo usserez ad est ination prenezbons" = "vous serez a destination prenez bons"
translates to "you will be has destination take good"
(note this is using babel fish translation which is approximate at best) http://babelfish.altavista.com/tr
I hope someone fluent in French can do a better translation given these hints. |

'm going to work on the key a little, be back in a bit. _________________ my love tastes a lot like tofu.

Trying to translate the entire message from French to English using babel fish translation.... so far I have:
"contact sera et abli lors que vous serez a destination prenez bon soin d'elle je spere que vos yeux ne vous causent pas de t q ruxubhaeyk hhqkufh xdkwwjyf"
translates to
"contact will be and abli at the time you will be has destination take to good care of it I spere that your eyes do not cause you T Q ruxubhaeyk hhqkufh xdkwwjyf" |

That's helpful, especially, the "when you are in place" and the word "hope" which I had trouble figuring out. I don't see how they got "disturb you" (ne vous dérangent pas) ... maybe a guess?
Here is what I have at this point:
Contact sera établi lors que vous serez a destination. Prenez bon soin d'elle. J'espère que vos yeux ne vous causent pas d'et qru x ubhaeyk hhqkufh xdkwwjyf
babel fish translates to
Contact will be established at the time you will be has destination. Take good care of it. I hope that your eyes do not cause you and qru X ubhaeyk hhqkufh xdkwwjyf
(The "take good care of it" could be "take good care of her")
The last few words still look scrambled to me, so I'm not sure what to do unless the key changes somehow to correct them. |

OMG marla that was awesome! lol now I have to go decode it or something :p
Ok about this freaking cipher, I think cainam and QtheC are on the right track. If you skip the single quote in "enemy's" or rather replace with any letter, you once again get "contactseraetablilors" at the end. So here's what I'm looking at:
Quote: | co ntact ser aetabli
lo rsq uevo usserez ad
est ination prenezbons;
oindell ejesperequ
evosyeux ne vouscaus
ent pasde'p einecontac
tseraet ablilors
|
I rearranged it as follows:
Quote: | contact sera etabli
lors que vous serez
a destination
prenez bon soin d'elle
j'espere que vos yeux
ne vous causent pas de peine |
Which according to google translates to:
Quote: | Contact will be established at the time you will be has destination take good care of it I hope that your eyes do not cause you sorrow |
I think "at the time you will be has a destination" should be "when you have a destination" and "take good care of it" should be "take good care of her." I see that you guys already have most of it. Well, at least this fixes the last bit. |

My guess is that the message is saying for the guy to take some girl (identified by the second passport), and fly to the destination that is on the plane tickets in the video. Then contact will be made.
I'm not sure about the eyes causing sorrow. |

I'm just solving puzzles - I haven't actually started following the story yet. I think some guy named Kris and the city of London are involved.
Oddly, Kris keeps trying to log into a computer with the AIX operating system. Maybe our job is to help him discover Linux. |
