The riddle of the Sphinx: (solved by Oedipus in order to win his kingship)
Q. What walks on four legs in the morning, two legs in the afternoon and three legs in the evening.

Thanks, Lumi. This is the second reference he makes of it. See the other video there, "Four Legs In The Morning."
I recognize a few paintings by Klimt. Not sure about the others.

Your welcome, my pleasure I haven't been following this very closely, sorry I missed the earlier reference. _________________ You made a wise choice, Bree.

Ok it's got to be baconian once again (pig grunt, bacon, get it?). There's eight groups of five paintings separated by text slides ("read between the lines"). I recognize some by Klimt, which I suspect stands for 'B' but I can't make them all out. |

That would be John Waterhouse, one of my favorite artist. Very into Greek and Roman mythology as well as Arthurian and Occult subjects.
I don't know how to do the bacon code but I do know that Aesculapius was the roman god of medicine and healing. Orbis is latin for circle or sphere and vitualamen means sacrifice.
Also, as a White Stripes fan, I thoroughly enjoyed the string quartet rendition. Good stuff that...

Henry, didn't you solve the bacon message in that B&W/color paintings video? This is the same! But this time it's A/B = Waterhouse/Klimt. Here's the tool:
http://www.purplehell.com/riddletools/bacon.htm
Here's what I have so far, but I know I'm guessing on at least 2 paintings:
ABAAB ABAAA AAABA ABABA AAAAA AAAAB AAAAA ABAAA
K I/J C L A B A I/J
KICLABAI? KICLABAJ? nah I must have guessed wrong. Can you verify which ones I got wrong? |

The White Stripes string quartet reminded me so much about Tachyon's first three videos... good times. |

Yeah, I can pick the Waterhouse from the Klimt I'm sure.
The A/B code, I had the table available at the time, lol. Let me look at it again with this purple hell thing and I'll get back to you It is version 1, right? _________________ "We're all in this alone." |

Yes, that's what he's used before. Gotta go eat but I'll check back later. This seems important for Will and Bell. |

Okay, I think I got it.
ABAAB = K
ABAAA = i/j (I)
ABABA = L
ABABA = L
AAAAA = A
AAAAB = B
AABAA = E
ABABA = L
"Kill Abel" Wow. I guess Annabel is supposed to kill Abel now?" Why?
hmm...that was uh...unexpected. Or is someone else supposed to kill Abel? Isn't vertumnalia Bell? She doesn't strike me as a killer type. What the hell is going on? _________________ "We're all in this alone." |

Wow, this is quite a shocking development. Great work, both of you, and glad you joined us Cainam. This is becoming quite an intricate story and I'm sure you'll enjoy it. The puzzles and codes are quite a fresh breath of air from the old hex/binary/vigenere stuff.
Indeed Henry, I think we were both fooled by Bell's candidness. But I'm sure Will has his reasons, and knows Abel and Bell enough to know if something like this is necessary or even possible. Bell sounds like she would do anything for Will. Also remember we've learned Will has been known as a hitman.
After thinking about it, it shouldn't be surprising that "Abel" is the guy who gets killed. The question is, who's our "Cain"? I thought Gone was supposed to be the Cain character, but I like how the hero/villain lines are getting blurred here. I always sensed Abel wasn't such a "good guy" after all. Who knows what he's up to. According to Bell's last blog it seems Abel is responsible for putting her in danger. |
