People used to always include "Monkey" as an option in the polls. It kind of meant "I don't give a damn". The practice died away - maybe someone will resurrect it one day.

Maybe this is my unbuttoned, pot smoking, west coast upbringing, or perhaps it's my tree-hugging, socratic method, liberal education talking here, but why is it:

since when are the two connected?
as if being a little brainy and a little wacky makes him probably-definitely gay.
I mean, how do you look at this character (probably the most interesting and well written character we've been given so far, by the way) and say: this person has an off beat sense of humor and thinks pocket protectors and digital watches are pretty neat, i bet he loves dick more than spiro agnew?
i mean, has some inordinately high number of asthmatic mouth-breathers with a penchant for star trek and graphing calculators turned out to love mustache rides and assless chaps? no. in fact, most of them are straight.
Is there some massive population of gay men who sit around at home playing second life, and polishing their mechanical pencil collection?
no. in fact, in my experience, gay men are better at socializing than straight ones.
Back in junior high, there was a cadre of brainless guys, you know the ones, they were the first to get the middle-school mustache, who would go around punching any guy in the stomach they deemed "a gay". the guys they ended up punching were the sorts of guys that set the curve in science class, and who knew all the state capitals by heart.
since puberty the ignorant and the barbaric have been aligning nerds and homosexuals to better antagonize both populations.
look, spencer could be gay. i think it would be interesting if he was. but there has been no indication of his preferences. i just don't think it's fair to assume that just cause he's a nerd, he is gay.

I'm guessing monkeys are like donuts in that way!
And then to end this insane discussion on a shocking note: I think president Bush is gay with the dutch "president" Balkende. And I'm fine with it  !
These gay topics are boring... I don't see what use it is discussing this until it might come up on the vids or something.
And to all that suffer from gay-fobia, don't be afraid. I'm guessing the Creators aren't out of the box enough to include something so normal in their videos... Can't really blame them seeing the general opinion on being gay is still a negative one. So you can rest easy at night. Spencer probably won't be dating anytime soon (cause the writers LOVE the stereotypes), but it's not because he's gay, that would be taking to much of a 'risk', bleh. |

Ok 2 things ...
1) Why does Spencer being an over the top dork make him gay?
2) I'm kinda offended by this survey because it seems to me that "gay" is used all too often as a general reference to things that are stupid, useless, or, again, dorky. |
