watch the trailer that cloud is drooling about and you'll understand.
for example, an enemy grabs a samurai from behind, and the samurai pierces himself with his own sword, and that way he'll pierce the enemy as well.

his suit just seems weird, like something happened to him and he's now part robot or cyborg or something.

im guessing rose mary died or something and he just doesnt care about his life anymore so he altered his body so he could fight better
