Glad to know I'm not the only one who's had that stuck in his head since this thread started. |
Just so I can have it stuck in my head, too, what's the tune? |

It's the Philosophers' Drinking Song, by Monty Python. It's on one of their albums, and in several of their live stage shows. _________________ I'd like an order of Denderah with a side of Hathor browns, please... |

David Hume died in 1776 so I guess it wasn't THE David Hume LOL |
um, obviously i don't think david hume was bree's mom's contemporary and that she was speaking directly to him. i meant that she was addressing the lecturer's presentation of hume's ideas, which would make "any bloke" either hume himself or the lecturer, who agrees with hume. either way, she vilifies hume's ideas. i don't think it was absolutely literal, as in, take david hume and kill him, thus implying that he was alive - it's more that he (and his proponents) would deserve to die. |
I meant no offence to you Ann, I listened to the video several times and it really does sound like Gemma said "David Hume, an atheist philosopher, CAME UP, as he is required, because he is a illuminist of the university". Was that a gaff on the part of who ever wrote that script?
Or maybe she meant the subject of David Hume CAME UP in which case forget what I just said. |
ok, sorry. i thought the misunderstanding was about the subject of what bree's mom said, not the "coming up" quote.
i think it's probably that hume (as a topic) came up - after all, the only david hume i know who is often referred to as an atheist philospher is indeed the one who died in 1776 - and it was probably required material since schools tend to feature their prominent alumni in the curriculum. (mine certainly makes a note of its graduates, sometimes excessively.) |

I like her, but already she's sort of bugging me with devoting so much of her own vlog to someone else. She gives us little comments about herself and then a big load of Bree. She's super fun and I wish she'd give us a little more about herself, you know, actually bring her into the storyline instead of just telling us more about Bree.
Also, her big white smile is a tiny bit spooky... |

I messaged her, but I thought it might be rude to ask which whitening product she uses.... I'll save it for a later message, that is if I get a reply...
But yes, her smile is so white she'd have a hard time playing hide and go seek in he dark if she smiled... _________________ Dear Bree,

She'll probably answer you. She answered me.
As far as her super white smile goes, I think thats the 'in' thing these days. Apparently just regular white teeth aren't good enough. The newest thing is having teeth that can glow in the dark.

The whole ringing the bell when something happened at the community is really weird. This reminds me of the poison koolaid cult (not their real name but I can't remember their actual name right now, they lived in "jonestown"...i think). Anyway, they used to have these creepy "drills" in the middle of the night or whenever. They were told that outsiders were coming to distroy them or something like that and they were supposed to drink punch knowing that it is poisoned (during the drills it wasn't but they never knew if it was a drill or not) It was to show their devotion etc... _________________ ...watch out for Friar Tuck, he kind of JUMPS out at you. |

I was kind of wondering about that bell thing too, since she was so vague about it and she had that kind of troublesome tone of voice to her, like she and Bree were being pretty naughty by ringing that bell. I mean, what kind of bell would they possibly be ringing? There really aren't that many varieties of bells. The only thing I could think of are little tinkly bells you use in wiccan type rituals/ceremonies, and big ol' church bells. |

I believe you may be thinking of Heaven's Gate.

Thanks but we already figured that out.
By the way did you know that everything about lonelygirl15 is fiction? |

Yeah, my main thought in watching this one was "Da-yum, girl's got some teeth on her". It's not only the whiteness; it's the size...
Oh, and was that really just a mis-pronunciation of "alumnus"? Funny if it was. I thought maybe it was some sort of honorary title like "Illuminus". _________________ www.thesnarkpit.com

Hmm...this video did give a lot of info, but until Bree mentions her or at least something recent she has talked about, I'm gonna lean towards fanfiction. A good tie-in though with the LG15 though! What better way for a fresh faced actor to get publicity by leeching off of her newly famous friends' series? And she is doing what the creators want us to do: make videos as if we're part of LG15, wether we're a character or just trying to help her. |

The whole "ringing the bell" thing just reminded me of that odd film, the Village. People separated totally from society without realising. I guess that's kind of like Bree.
