Her point about Thai food, too, is really a point about being sheltered from the world. She says she doesn't like it much, but she feels very cosmopolitan, "whereas in my old life, well you know how that was."
I hope this is canon, I so hope it! Gemma gives us a confirmation that it's not just Bree's parents keeping Bree unnaturally isolated, but rather it's their whole religious community that gates itself off from the rest of the world.
Oh, and to whomever seemed to think that Bree and Gemma used to ring the bell naughtily: Gemma says, "In the community, we used to ring the bell," meaning THE COMMUNITY used to have that as a form of alarm. I think it's significant that it must have happened a lot, or enough times that Gemma is still spooked by it, and can't stand ambulance or police sirens.
And "hurt or worse"? What was worse? Hmmmm. |

As stated in a previous video by Bree herself, her parents are not members of the Order of Denderah. |
However, Bree seems to be telling a few lies.
So can we trust that? Maybe that's a point we've all just assumed to be true and skipped.

| I am not sure if anyone has already said this but, What if Bree's mom is actually not around anymore (physically). Aliester Crowley was a supporter of Qugi boards. Just a crazy thought but, what if that is how Bree comunicates with her mom??? Just the way Gemma was talking made me think that Bree's mom might have passed away. |

In one of the videos, we can hear mom and dad chatting in the hallway about not letting Bree go to a party.

This thought hadn't occurred to me. What the way she spoke about Bree's mom did for me was to make me worry a tad for Bree's dad. It made me wonder if possibly Bree's mom is the one who is REALLY into this religion, and her dad is just kind of going along with it. While writing this, I just went back and watched "How My Parents Met" to see if I could find anything to bolster my thoughts here. I didn't really find anything specific, but could some other people go back and watch this again too and tell us what you think? It sounds like she may have been the dominant one in the relationship from the very beginning. Also, can anyone understand who Bree says her mom was doing a dissertation on? Johann somebody...
