I'm shocked that this hasn't been discussed over here in depth! So, here is a two foot diving board ....
I found a bit on Crowley and Halloween [from an anti-halloween site of course, some people ]
Followers of Crowley: Major-General J.F.C. (‘Boney’) Fuller was a devotee of the heroine addicted, sex pervert, black magician and so called High Priest of Satanism in Britain, Aleister Crowley (1875-1947). Crowley boasted of being "the wickedest man in the world" and openly despised Christ and the faith of his parents who were Plymouth Brethren. Fuller indicated that Samhain (Halloween) was an important ritual day to Crowley and his followers and it still is today.

For those of you interested in the history of Halloween itself, here is a good site http://www.asiya.org/sabbats/samhain.html
Anyway, you know where I'm going, right? Wouldn't tonight be a lovely night for the real ceremony? |

I'd love to discuss samhain with you, but right now I'm in a rush. I have to get some cats for the ritual tonight that I am doing with my fellow samhain celebrators. It's going to be at 11 PM in the graveyard and we have an altar on which to sacrifice the cats. Anyway, gotta run!!! _________________ Vote For Chris Christmas Rodriguez to replace Santa this year.

a little more ....
Some historians believe the Druids practiced human sacrifice. Each year at Samhain (Halloween)...a young, innocent boy or girl would be sacrificed to the Sun God and the Lord of the Dead as a propitiation and appeasement.
it's from another anti-halloween site: http://www.gospelcenterchurch.org/halloween.html
Talks about Baal and a whole bunch of goodies |

I'm an anthropology student and I actually did a feild study with a pagan group a few years ago that allowed me to attend a samhain and it was a ceremony in itself, so I doubt in reality a cult that celebrates samhain might stage a ceremony tonight. However you never know considering the nature of Lonelygirl.. Unfortunatley though it did not involve any sort of stereotypical animal or human sacrifices, but there was a bonfire, lots of candles, and opening of portals and whatnot. I wouldn't be surprised if Bree talks about a samhain though especially since Crowley seems to have combined pagan and christian aspects..
I wanted to share this video though, since I haven't seen it posted yet... though I am only an occassional lurker.. But it's tells you a lot about Aleister Crowley.
