Was there anything else unusual about the book? I'm sure that there is SOME significance to it. The dog eared pages with nothing underlined seems fishy to me. I also think that Op is trying to give us a hint with the line in her profile "leave no page unturned." The usual way that sentence is phrased is "leave no stone unturned." Maybe there's something significant with the pages.

What else could it be? Writing on one of the pages? An impression on a page? Something in the binding? _________________ Founder of the Official I HATE GEMMA FAN CLUB

I have gone thru the entire book, cover to cover. No underlining, nothing in the binding, nothing highlighted. Just the two dog eared pages, which Tachyon has explained in her latest profile update. Sorry |

for reference
There was a profile change on Tachyon's YOUTUBE. It is;
To my "Brother":
I hope your friends were able to retrieve what I left for you. I really tried to get into that book you gave me, but it didn't fit with my present mental state. I read it all the way through, it just wouldn't stick!
Maybe you can exchange it for something you want to read? A few of the pages might be a little dog-eared, but I tried to fold them back so it'd at least appear to be in its original "new" condition. LOL.
You kept your receipt, right? Don't put off returning it, because they have limitations sometimes on taking things back! Oh, and if you haven't read it before, I highly recommend "The Mystery of the Brass-Bound Trunk." One of my favorites! _________________ <DTayl> actually i'm the bad sister

"A few of the pages might be a little dog-eared, but I tried to fold them back so it'd at least appear to be in its original "new" condition."
That sentence seems to suggest more than two:
"A few" means more than two (two would be a "couple").
Fold them back to appear new suggests there were other non-dog eared pages (that were once dog eared).
Also, searched the previous drop thread for:
"The Mystery of the Brass-Bound Trunk."
(since it's also referenced in the profile update and a Nancy Drew book)
One of the quotes Tachyon marked was this line:
"Don't discount faint lines or indecipherable blotches on dicarded pieces of paper. A magnifying glass might reveal them to be very small words."
Combine that with the fold and dog-ear line, and Don't discount faint lines stands out, no?
Right now I am cursing anyone who said previous drop puzzles were too easy, sure you are too Ladron! |

MoonWatcher wrote: | Hi Folks, I thought I'd chip in a (probably way off the mark) observation. According to Wikipedia a man named "Jonas" served as a courier for the Setauket Spies AKA The Culper Ring. "Traveler J"'s solution to the anagram indicates OpA is "inflight to hide unit" - couriering something perhaps?
If all of this is correct, I wonder what the "J" in "Traveller J" stands for? And could this be wher the character Jonas ties in...
Also, on the American flag observations... I understand the Culper Ring was created and operated during the American War of Independence. The shot of the flag seems to fit nicely this all.
Apologies if I'm being stupid here. |
definately not stupid, great theories, and observations. people jsut tend to ignore "new" peoples opinions, but i think they are good =) _________________ RAWR!
