WTF?!? a day or two that’s pretty lame. Rolling Eyes Also do they not have anyone who knows anything about IT to not realize that this was going to be a fiasco?!? I mean come on... you make an interactive story, you want your fans involved, you claim to be starting a new medium that centers around fan involvement and interaction w/ the characters, you publicize an event where the fans can do just that and this is the result?!?
Note to the creators get your act together. Otherwise you’re going to lose your audience.
Some once said in these forums that "they really liked the idea of a new type of story telling, telling a completely new story, not the same old story rehashed in a different medium" and at the time I didn't get it, but I do know. We are all bored to tears w/ hyper reality shows and sitcoms. We as the viewing public want something different, which can take us in a new direction.
Here I'll even help you out a little bit.
You have your pacing all off for these webisodes. epically the recent ones, and maybe its because u don't have the budget that you need to do it right, which might be the fans fault for not hitting that donate button at least once, I know I am guilty of that. But I digress, these last few videos came out WAY to far apart, you gave us far too much time to figure out where the story was heading. And that leads to pretty boring story telling if everyone knows what’s going to happen next before we even watch the videos. . These should have all happened fairly quickly ending in a crescendo with the webisodes “Ransacked” and Bree being scared turning to the camera and saying “HELP ME!!! I’ll be in the chat room in two hours”. This then allows Jonas to step in and be a hero by taking them in. It also does Not allow for the chat rooms to get too full, and also adds a sense of urgency that has been severely lacking in all these “chase videos”…
You DON’T have to wait until everyone has seen the last video before you post the next one, this isn’t TV we can go back and watch the episode if we missed it, hell knowing us, we will watch it 2 or 3 times to try and sift out every last bit of information we can from it. We might even play it back words to see if it plays "Bree is dead”.
The basic idea here is that when telling a story of any kind you either need to take the audience somewhere they never expected to go or you need to take them on a fast paced thrill ride that they do not care that they already new the destination. Neither of these things happened in the last sequence of videos.
Also will someone please do better writing for Daniel no man should be that annoying or selfish when in the face of eminent danger… storming of because he is mad… I wouldn’t me mad… I would be scared shitless that people had broken into my room gone through my stuff and where after me and my best friend. I would be more protective of Bree and not some emotion douche bag. His character has become unrealistic with this last move, change it or drop the character.
That said you are still providing an entertaining experience and I for one am impressed.

WOW.... I do agree with the pace of things comment...... I do hardily disagreee with the Daniel comment.... he is fighting to save the chick he LIKES>>.... yet she is being a dumb asss..... as long as they are not actively being chased I do think he would be getting annoyed with bree..... Hell I am getting annoyed with breee and understand completely wher Dan is coming from.... I would have told her to stfu a long time ago... he is just much nicer.... I really like the way the plot is going I just think it needs to speed up

I have never disagreed with every issue in a post that long before.

Okay curious what u disagree w/ at least give me some points to debate. Not just a whole sale I disagree and that’s that
And I admit I did fly off the handle a little bit with the whole Daniel comment, but he seems to be just whining and immature about the situation, and w/o him posting videos we don’t get to see his side of things... huh that’s funny never realized until I said it "out loud" that that is why I find it hard to sympathize w/ Daniel we aren't hearing things from his point of view.
On another note, I am now confused as to why the order hasn't just "picked-up" Bree if they are watching her closely enough to steal a room key and go into the room when they are not there, it does seem like they are being herded like animals somewhere. (anyone remember where this discussion is being held???)

sparky takes a deep breath in and out....OK
OK I am not disrespecting your post so I will respond.....
but I CANNOT STAND really long posts , so I am going to just cover a few points
sparky takes a deeep breath
OK
( I just really hate long posts, so I am not going to tell you everything I agree with and why)
1. I don't think waiting a day or even 2 for a transcript is lame
the script last night was chaos and probably needs ALOT of editing , the people who work on this all most likely have other jobs so cannot devote themselves wholly to this.
2. The creators have explained in a couple of posts why things went wrong last night. The chat system they planned to use was not ready, so 15 min prior to airtime they decided to use a system they knew would be poor, yet they did it anyways rather than dissapoint their fans and cancel, I say Kudos .
3. This is a new medium, there are going to be bumps in the road
those being entertained should be understanding
4. I don't think they are going to lose their audience
5. Pacing - it is up to them. Not us. Pacing depends on many things : budget, the actors schedules, the writers.....not to mention the fans input. I do thinmk the creators read the forums and try to incorporate ideas.
I think the forum people enjoy trying to figure this story out. In fact I think if they started putting out videos quicker people would complain: "Whoa, wait, slow down we want to analyze this!" or some such sputtering.
Also If they didn't wait I don't think people would analyze as much.
Really I have to stop here ....the long post alarms are ringing....
no one is even going to read this it is so freakin' long.... _________________ "Children analyze fantasy. They know you're kidding them. There's got to be logic in the way you kid them. Their fun is pretending...making believe they believe it." Dr Seuss |

Geez... so much complaining for a FREE service. If you don't like it, don't watch it! Seriously, nobody is forcing you to follow LG15 or watch the videos or "play each one three times and then reverse it".
If you don't like how they are running things, start your OWN running webisodic saga on YouTube.
One thing I do have to say about the pacing is that people need to realize that LG15 is supposed to happen IN REAL TIME.
So the pace of the videos and the speed at which they get put up, are supposed to mirror what happens in real life. Now unless YOU take the time to film and edit and post 4 vlogs up a day, and instantly post video responses up.... Oh as for the action, it's happening in real time too--so in movies when the characters have actually been at sea for a few months or something, it'll still only be 2 hrs for us, but in the Breeniverse if the action is spread over 2 months, it's 2 months for us. And even if you're on the run in real life, there's not gonna be action every day.
I think you really just want LG15 to turn into an action MOVIE, which it isn't. It's a series of entertaining vlogs with a mysterious plot and engaging characters being offered to us for free, so take it as it is, or leave. |

I completely agree about the pacing, it started off almost shocking when all the stuff with the "cult" started going down. Now right after each video, people are (correctly) predicting exactly where the story is going.
To the creators - I hope that you truly do take this into account and listen to what your audience is asking of you. There's no point in having this interaction with the audience if everything is scripted, and taped, way ahead of time. Also, keep up the pace... this is a critical time in developing long-lasting fans.
AniDonia - i have to say, i completely disagree with you. yes, the point of this show is that there is AUDIENCE INTERACTION and if i'm not mistaken, the creators have asked the audience for suggestions.
Well, that's my 2 cents anyway... |

When they said "audience interaction", they meant for us to *interact* with the characters--like chatting in character, or making video spinoffs. Yeah....
You can't gather up audience interaction if you don't give it time to form. If they spat out videos 2x a day, not only would it look completely unrealistic (seriously, would the characters have a "life"?), but there wouldn't be time for the Creators to look through the forums/comments/video responses for the next step. Especially the video responses--unless someone was squating in front of the front page waiting for the next video with a webcam ready, those take at least a day to start coming in.
Videos ARE coming in faster. There's a new one up daily, when in the beginning (if you want to get really hardcore... er BreeCore) it was just Bree posting a new, cutesy vlog every 3 days or so, proving science wrong, fighting with her parents, and dancing with P Monkey, and waiting for the ceremony. It was like that for the first few *months*, and really DID go at the pace of a real homeschooled 16-year-old's life. But noone complained of the pacing then cause they thought she was real.
And that was when the core audience formed--the HUGE throngs of YouTubers. So if you want the Creators to get back to basics, why not have them drop Bree back off at her house and go back to making videos about cookies and science and fighting with her dad about going out at night. |

I think you're contradicting yourself. Personally I think the creators watch to see our theories and then encorporate them into the plot. Maybe we ARE figuring out the next vlog before hand or many the creators are taking a cue from us.
And I definitely dont think these are taped in advance. At least not weeks in advance. MAYBE some of them days in advance if they arent key plot vlogs.
anyways those are my thoughts, welcome to the forums! |
