I object stongly to the innapropriate and offensive Avatar being diplayed by Sugarmagnolia. It does not belong here (anywhere really) and injects the LG site with political opinion

i probably would have changed it, i'm a pretty laid back and agreeable person. you don't really know anything about my political opinion, and we've talked before, you could have told me then.

if the creators or moderators ask me to change it, i will. no questions asked. until then i suggest you grow some tolerance for other peoples opinions (whatever they may be) or maybe grow a sense of humor.

if it's really that intolerable, then don't look.

I have to agree with Killthesmiley, Slainte. Your reaction to the avatar is far more offensive (to me at least) than the avatar itself.

I also think your argument for having it removed is fallacious. There's nothing inherently political about the avatar. If you interpret some political message from it, well, that's just your interpretation. Even if it is political, however, 1) that's a personal expression of the individual using it and 2) your own argument for its removal on political grounds is in itself a political opinion.

I'd also say that your sweeping statement that it doesn't belong anywhere is the expression of a personal philosophical conviction (and possibly a political opinion) in and of itself -- in which case this sounds more like an issue of "I don't like what somebody else does, therefore it's bad."

Just calm down. If the site's administration wants it removed, it'll be removed. Supermagnolia already said he/she would do so willingly if that was requested (and that was before you made this thread; look at the thread you linked to; sugarmagnolia said there that he/she would change it if they asked).

By the way, I think it's funny that the thing is supposedly offensive because it's a political figure being portrayed. Does that mean it's fine if it's a random person nobody else knows?
