I definitely think that at least initially, Daniel was the character which was intended to be the one that viewers could relate to. The creators knew that their youtube audience would be at least in part socially-awkward regular-looking young guys, and so they were giving the audience a bit of a fantasy by having this hot innocent sheltered girl interact with him.
But if it turns out that they everyman, the one that we're supposed to relate to, is actually the bad guy? That would be genius! |

I must agree that women are worse than men in the "bad decisions" department. But, we don't usually make them despite our better logic. He knows he shouldn't have gone. But he did. He's like a bad puppy that peed on the carpet:-)
(plus, it is my duty as a woman to make fun of men.)

then why not edit it out? I think its meant to show that he almost said it accidently...he's not ready to admit that he completely loves her.
