Transcript
Claire: The following should be carefully considered as evidence of my good intentions and as a warning to anyone who thinks they're foolish enough to come after our very special girl. (shows Emma sitting on a chair with her arms around her leg) Emma? Emma, what's wrong with you?
Emma: I can't.
Claire: You can't what?
Emma: I don't wanna talk.
Claire: Emma, I'm asking you to talk to your mom and your dad and Jonas and anyone else who's watching about what you told me last night.
Emma: I just don't feel like talking!
Claire: Emma!
Emma: (angrily) My brain is moving in so many different directions! All at once! Okay? I don't know what to think anymore. I'm thinking so many different things right now! I feel like (holds up left hand) this is me and (holds up right hand) this is my life, this is my world. (claps hands together) I'm cut off from everything Claire!
Claire: Emma, you're not cut off! I'm asking you to talk to your mom or your dad and anyone else (Emma looks directly into camera) who's listening or watching! I'm asking you to say anything you want to, anything you want to Emma! They're listening to you, I'm sure they are! (Claire walks over to Emma and holds her shoulder and speaks in a patronizing tone.) Okay, you know what? Forget it, forget it. Why don't you tell them about the story you told me last night. You know the trip that you and your mom and your dad took to Lake Arrowhead, why don't you talk about that? Come on. (pushes Emma's shoulder) Tell them how you learned how to water ski? Huh? How you... (looks into camera) Emma thought she saw a shark in Lake Arrowhead, didn't you Emma? Didn't you?
Emma: I was only 11.
Claire: What about the rock?
Emma: Don't touch me!!!
Claire: Come on Emma!
Emma: (holding head in hands with fingers splayed) Please.
Claire: Come on!!
Emma: I don't want to talk. (gets up and walks away)
Claire: Emma is lying down right now. I want you to know this is a very emotional time for her. She's a teenage girl who has suddenly found out that she is special. And that being special comes with great responsibility. She just needs time to adjust. Believe me, she'll get it. She's fine.
Notes
- This was the third video released on October 11, 2007. Aside from the Season 1 Finale, it is first time that more than two lonelygirl15 episodes have been released on one day.
- It is odd that Claire would post this video as it clearly contradicts everything she has said about Emma's condition. This may mean that Claire's intentions are good. This idea is easier to accept if the watcher's words are disregarded. Claire's warning becomes directed at the order instead of at TAAG.
- It seems that Emma is resisting Claire's attempts to craft her message. The video also clearly shows Claire's use of verbal and physical intimidation. The fact that Emma "went to lie down" at the end of the video seems questionable when considering the stilted & scripted reading Emma does in She's Telling The Truth.
- Many believed that the "moose ears" Emma showed meant the ceremony was coming up in 10 days.
- As in the previous video, Emma's Safe, Emma's gestures were eventually determined to be Native American Sign Language, which had the first letter of each sign be a part of a much larger puzzle, which was a vigenere code. The signs are:
- 0:59 - End
- 1:59 - Deer
- 2:04 - Deer
