Hey Jerk, You Work! is the two-hundred fifty-fifth webisode in the KateModern video series. It is also the one-hundredth video of season two.
Transcript
(The camera pans down to Lee from the Job Centre Plus sign.)
Lee: So, here I am, but I won't be here for long! So come and get me! Right, cut. Now what do you think, Meryl? Do you think that one or do you think the last one was better?
(Meryl turns the camera on herself.)
Meryl: Can we stop this now? My arm's absolutely knackered.
Lee: Is that Gavin? Is that Gavin? (Cut to Lee running to Gavin.) Gavin!
Gavin: All right, Lee? Uh, all right, Meryl?
Meryl: Lee, I thought we was gonna film my bit next.
Lee: No-no-no, wait a minute. What're you doing here, Gav?
Gavin: Well, what do you think, Lee? I-I've just been scuba diving.
Lee: Oh! Oh, right! (Laughs.) I thought you were in Manchester.
Gavin: Yeah, I- I decided not to go.
Lee: Yeah. Don't blame you. Who wants to go to Manchester, right?
Gavin: Alright, watch it.
Lee: No, no. Before you go, would you like to do us a favor?
Gavin: (Sighs.) What?
(Lee looks excitedly at the camera. Cut to Gavin and Lee standing in front of the camera.)
Meryl: Action...
Lee: But don't just take my word for it; here's my former boss, Gavin Taylore, who's going to tell you a little bit more about me. Over to you, Gavin!
Gavin: Where does one begin to describe the many, many qualities of Lee Phillips? Um... I guess all I can say is, if you are looking for a man to steal your software, bankrupt your business, and set off a chain of events that puts the lives of a number of young girls at risk, then Lee's your man. Is that all right for you?
Lee: Um... J-just cut. Um... You all right, Gavin?
Gavin: Yeah, I'm all right. It's just shit being unemployed, isn't it?
Lee: Yeah. Oh, come on, cheer up, mate. Hey, I'll tell you what: why don't you come 'round to dinner tomorrow night?
Gavin: No. You all right?
Lee: Oh, go on... (Pokes Gavin.) No, Charlie'll be there, 'cause I live with her now.
Gavin: Really?
Lee: Yeah.
Gavin: Oh, um... Well, um...
Lee: Go on...
Gavin: Well, maybe, yeah. A-alright, yeah, I'll bring a bottle.
Lee: Okay, brilliant! Great!
Gavin: Cool.
Lee: So how is the job hunt going?
Gavin: Not great. I'm still looking, so... you know.
Lee: I know, tell me about it.
Gavin: What, no fraudulent bald nutters trying to make you into a internet TV star this week? (Lee shrugs.) Well, I'm sure another will be along any minute.
(Gavin walks away and Meryl turns the camera on herself.)
Meryl: Bloody hell, I've had enough of this now...
