The Shut Eye is the eighth video in the Immant video series.
Transcript
Dr. Immant: I received a package today at my office. (He holds up an manila envelope with a graphic on the front of a closed eye superimposed on a triangle. He reaches in and puls out a CD.) Contents were very interesting.
(cutscene of Dr. Immant sitting and drinking coffee while looking at his laptop computer in a public place, presumably from a video file on the disk)
Dr. Immant: So what am I to make of this? Is this the work of some nutjob who thinks he can get the Order's secrets from me? Maybe radical traditionalists who think I talk too much. (long pause) Maybe it's personal; some sort of precursor to blackmail. (He rubs his eyes.) (long pause) Nosy reporter? Nah. (long pause) The authorities? I don't think I've done anything illegal. (long pause) Let's face it; a lot of people would be happy if I went away. But the truth is, I already know who you are. The real question is: are you better at this than I am? I don't think you are. You see, you already made two critical mistakes. Number one: (He holds up the envelope again) the shut eye. (he puts the envelope down) That's real subtle. Number two: you made me aware that you were after me. Now I know that you're there. That's not good for you. See what you need to learn is, you can't scare a ghost.
(The video cuts out to the Immant logo.)
Notes
- Dr. Immant's musing of "Nosy reporter?" is probably a shout-out to Nikki Bower.
