Fixed?
By adding those two extra pixels in height, I think the majority of the userboxes are now the same height, and should format correctly, fixing most of the problems with people's user pages. -BRUCKER (Home/Talk/Contribs) 12:07, 8 March 2007 (CST)
Redesigning
I was thinking of redesigning the userboxes to look like the person template... like this:
This user's favorite lg15 character is Bree. |
and then we can align them right to go under the FanPerson template. So it would look like:
Taylor Dreams | |||||
---|---|---|---|---|---|
| |||||
Person information | |||||
Age | 18+ | ||||
Birthday | 6.6.6 |
This user's favorite lg15 character is Bree. |
This user's favorite lg15 stuffed character is Purple Monkey. |
Is that a good idea? Questions, comments? Love, Randy (Say Wha'? | Whachu Doin'?) [Aug. 15. '07 - 7:58 PM, Central Daylight]
- I'm not using either of that on my userpage, but I must say it looks a lot better than the clutter usually seen on userpages; unfortunately, said clutter is exactly the problem: Zoey, for example, uses 15 userboxes; stacked on the right, that'd give an approximate height of 1020px just for the userboxes alone. Seeing your userpage, I assume you'd have no problem with that, but I, personally, think it's a waste of space. Why would I scroll down three pages just to see who(m?) a user would like to see naked?
- O.K., I added a Sandbox template at User:-R-/Sandbox/Userbox. Heres my example of the template:
This user's favorite lg15 character is Bree. |
- or...
This user's favorite lg15 character is Bree. |
- And for right,
This user's favorite lg15 character is Bree. |
- Sooooooo... did I do good? Hah, I'm still not good at templates xP Love, Randy (Say Wha'? | Whachu Doin'?) [Aug 15, 07 - 9:50, Central Daylight]
I think it's a good thought, but I just can't see how it could practically work. It would cause pages to scroll neverendingly if people had a bunch of boxes (like myself). I appriciate the idea, and the effort you've put into it, but my vote is, unfortunatly, to keep the boxes the way they currently are. --Zoey 23:58, 19 August 2007 (CDT)
- Oh, I'm saying the user can choose which ones go on the left, and which ones don't. Love, Randy (Say Wha'? | Whachu Doin'?) [Aug 20, 07 - 12:13PM, Central Daylight]
- Hm, yeah. I'm also not sure how I feel about all the dead space around the images. It just looks kind of... empty and weird. I don't know how to describe it better... sorry... --Zoey 00:00, 21 August 2007 (CDT)
- Thats fine, I just tested it, and it doesn't work in IE. Love, Randy (Say Wha'? | Whachu Doin'?) [12:03 AM, Central Daylight]
- Hurr? Looks fine to me in IE. Unless, of course, you expected the mozilla-only styles to work in IE.
