(Steve is walking along Carnaby Street. Cut to Steve with the camera on himself.)
Steve: Something is going on here. Now, if the Hymn of One has taught me anything, it's taught me this: strength comes from numbers. I've just been to Charlie's house, and she's moved. (Laughs.) How many times we've been over this? I don't know. But the only way I can help her solve Kate's murder is if we work together. As a team.
(Cut to Steve in front of Charlie's office building.)
So I saw the video of Kate's boyfriend. I'm not one for finger-pointing, but... he's not been ruled out as a suspect.
(Terrence approaches Steve and puts his hand on his shoulder.)
Terrence: Excuse me, have you heard your eternal song? Oh, sorry, mate; it's you! Y- Steve? Well, it's Terry! (Laughs.) Well, it makes a fine day like this even more precious; what finding another one of us out there. (Steve starts to walk away.) Oi! You, uh- You out on your lunch break? Uh, maybe we can hand these out together. (Holds up a handful of Hymn of One pamphlets.)
Steve: Let's not, Terrence. I know who you are; I don't want a loan, and I certainly don't want any trouble. So let's just leave it, shall we?
Terrence: We all have our parts before we hear our song. Surely you'd know that as well as I do.
(Steve crosses the street toward Charlie's office and Terrence follows.)
Terrence: Well I'm glad we cleared the air.
Steve: Listen. Terrence. This isn't the time, and it's certainly not the place.
(Steve turns and enters Charlie's office building. Cut to Steve walking up the main stairs. Terrence follows him inside.)
Terrence: Look, I-I just want to say sorry. You know, I- I hate to think that we got off on the wrong foot or anything.
Steve: Terry, I need to do this on my own.
Terrence: Look, I just need to explain! There's a lot of noise, you know, drowning out both of our songs. Please. Look, you're obviously in the middle of something special; just let me help!
Steve: Okay. (Hands the camera to Terrence.) I need to get someone on board. Sort out all kinds of mess. Just hold that. But be discreet, okay? Come on.
Terrence: Okay.
(Steve walks up the stairs, followed by Terrence. Cut to Steve entering Charlie's office. As he rounds a corner, he is confronted by one of Charlie's co-workers.)
Steve: Hi. Uh...
Charlie's co-worker: Can I help you with something?
Steve: I'm here to see Charlie.
Charlie's co-worker: I don't think she's in today, mate. Sorry.
(Charlie looks through the window in her office and looks agitated when she sees Steve.)
Steve: She is, actually.
Charlie's co-worker: No.
Steve: I can see her; she's just there.
Charlie's co-worker: No.
(Charlie pokes her head out of her office as another of her co-workers approaches Steve.)
Steve: No, it's fine.
Charlie's co-worker: What's on? You all right?
Steve: Yeah, fine. I was just wanting to, uh-
Charlie's co-worker: No, I, um, I don't think she wants to speak to you, mate. Um...
Steve: But she's a friend of mine.
Charlie's co-worker: Now let's head out. Hey.
(Another of Charlie's co-workers phones for security.)
Charlie's co-worker: Hello? Security, please.
Charlie's co-worker: Come on, hey; out, out!
Steve: Hey!
Charlie's co-worker: (Pushes Steve toward the door.) Come here. Hey, both of you.
Steve: Alright! Okay!
Charlie's co-worker: Let's get out!
Steve: We're just-
Charlie's co-worker: Out we go.
Steve: Alright! I'm going!
(Cut to Steve stumbling out of the bulding.)
Terrence: Steve, she's not ready yet. But she'll come.
Steve: Not ready? (Grabs the pamphlets out of Terrence's hand and throws them in the air.) Not ready?!
