(Jonas is filming himself in his truck.)
Jonas: Look, I've been-I've been angry lately. When I get angry, I do stupid things. Like, really stupid things. I still can't believe those fuckers came to my house and taped me yesterday. (cut to filming a semi in the reflection of his side mirror) Ever since I saw the video, I just can't -- I can't sleep, I can't focus on anything else, and I --- I started thinking about the way my life was, you know, the way it used to be. A long time ago. (cut to blurred shots out car window) Before all of this. Don't get me wrong, I do not trust these Resistance people. Not at all. (cut back to Jonas in the vehicle) But, I figure if they can find my parents, then-- (cut to shot of the outside of Jonas' parents house) What's the harm in me coming to talk to them, right? Oh, um, oh, also, I just really want to thank everyone out there from the bottom of my heart for helping me crack that -- that code from the Resistance video. I wouldn't be here without you. So, thank you.
(The front of Jonas' parent's house is seen.)
Jonas: Woo. Ok! Ahem. Ok. Ok. I can do this. Woo. Here we go. (Jonas enters through the gate.) I can do this. Just gimme a minute. Fuck it. (Rings doorbell.) Ok, there's no going back now. Woo. Oh, man. Maybe they're not -- (Door opens.) Hi, dad. It's me, it's Jonas.
Mother: Sweetie, who's there?
Father: I think he has the wrong adress.
Jonas: Mom...
Mother: Is there -- Can we help you with something?
Father: Just call the police.
Mother: Uh, can we help you?
Jonas: They don't remember me. (Cuts to Jonas inside thier house. His parents are whispering to each other behind him.) Nothing. Uh -- Least they ... They invited me in. But, you know what? Here's the weird thing: my mom has this picture of me from when I was a kid. I know that she knows who I am somewhere, somewhere deep down. I know she knows who I am. Even if she doesn't remember exactly. I can just -- I can just feel it. (Looks behind at his parents who are hugging each other.) Ha. Ha. This is -- This is incredible.
Mother: Jonas?
Jonas: Yeah?
Mother: There's someone I'd like you to meet.
Jonas: Uh, kay.
Mother: Come on.
(She leads him to a room with music blasting from the inside. She knocks.)
Mother: Em? Emma? Can I come in?
Jonas: It's okay.
Mother: Can -- Can you just wait here a minute?
Jonas: Yeah, yeah.
Mother: Just one moment.
Jonas: Sure.
Mother: I'll be right back.
Jonas: I'll be here.
Mother: Ha, ha. OK.
(She enters the room. Jonas takes a glance at the camera. The door opens once more.)
Jonas: Hey.
Mother: You can come in now.
Jonas: Really?
Mother: Yeah. She's waiting.
Jonas: Thank you.
Mother: You're welcome.
Jonas: (Laughs.) Hi.
Jonas: Hi. I'm -- I'm Jonas.
Emma: I'm Emma.
Jonas: Emma, nice to meet you.
Emma: Nice to meet you.
Jonas: So ... What?
Emma: (Points to camera.) Well, why do you have a camera?
Jonas: It's a long story. Uhm, I'll tell you later.
Emma: Ok. (They both laugh.) Um, this is really weird for me. Um, oh my God. I have a brother. Who's holding a camera.
Jonas: I know! Well, yeah, I know. It's weird. And... I can put it -- I can put it down, if it makes you more feel more comfortable. I don't hafta. 'Cause I just kinda...
Emma: No! Actually I think it's actually kinda cool.
Jonas: Really?
Emma: Yeah, I do.
Jonas: Oh, me and you are going to get along.
Emma: Really? Why do you have that with you all the time?
Jonas: Kinda. yeah. It's like ... I'm going to put the camera down. I think it's ...
Emma: O --
Jonas: I'm going to put it down.
Emma: Ok.
