Daniel's parents were mentioned in the video Where's Daniel?. In the Silent Treatment video Daniel described his parents as "not the hands-on type." Indeed, his parents didn't appear to care when Daniel went missing for months at a time. In Drinking Problems, Daniel revealed that his parents are both recovering alcoholics, which according to him was likely a large part of why they have been so distant. Although Daniel did not admit it outright, it was implied that Daniel may also be an alcoholic because of his parents' influence.
When Daniel returns home in My Parents Suck Too, we see part of his father from behind, but his face is not seen, nor is he heard.
